We're being linked with a 22 year-old centre-back Real Madrid B team player. He seems to have been about a bit and would be available on a free. We have zero chance of actually signing him though as there are far bigger names being linked with the lad such as Southampton, Leicester, Wolves and Watford.

Still, it's nice to pretend we can compete with the big boys now and again.

Don't take this as gospel but we are looking at a Spanish left-back called Carlos Peña. We have sent a scout to watch him a couple of times. Like I said, it's just hearsay from a friend of mine who is usually bang on, but you can chose to believe it or not.

He's out of contract in the summer as well. If both are true, the Spanish market must be a target for us - and rightly so in my eyes. Almost every club outside La Liga are cash strapped.
