Darlow and Lascelles targeted

For all those having nightmares about FFP this may be the solution. Poor old Fawaz is having to fork out £2m per month out of his billions and Platinis storm troopers are already knocking at the door. If anybody wants the pair start the bidding at £10m.

Everybody happy with that? No I didn't think so. It will be "Fawaz is selling the crown jewels" or "I thought he was loaded" etc. Can't win can he.

It's all about mid-table...
Depends on how big the offers are? Suspect Davies would sell to get some old heads in.

Hope we keep them though, especially Lascelles.

As with Lansbury there shouldn't be any financial pressure to sell, so unless someone offers silly money then we should keep them. Players like these are the future of the club.

Problem is though, for the youngsters it's all about developing their career, which is a short one anyway. Would anyone as a highly talented youngster want to spend their formative years playing for a Mid table Championship club, under a manager who's methods at out of date, thus his negative tactics are likely to stem your own ambition as much as the clubs ?

Or would you want to play under some progressive forward looking manager and chance your hand in a higher division, I do hope some fans can understand why the attraction to move on, could be hard to resist, given the right club.

I've heard they've already signed a contract with a premiership club.

What a joke :/

I wouldn't be suprised if they went if they offered very good money. Would be very attractive for the players as well. Unfortunately it is the way of the football world. Until (if ever) we are an established premier league team we will always be a selling club even with a rich sugar daddy chairman because FFP has stuffed that. We have ready made replacements in DeVries and Wilson and we have back up (Evtimov, Halford and Collins etc.). They may even loan us Lascelles back until Wilson is fit.

Id rather keep these two than sign other players in the window ... in fact make these two top priorities too sign on longer term contracts ! ... both been superb this season and if were gonna get anywhere we cant keep selling our crown jewels ...

Lascelles is going to become a star. No point selling him now. Darlow might make it too. I'd rather we kept both than sign a striker frankly.

Those two and Lansbury are the only three in the squad I wouldn't sell unless it was for absolute crazy money (8 figures minimum).

And this is why Spurs are in the shitter. First time a player shows some skill the bigger-money teams come calling. Killing the sport.

I don't believe this is true for one second and although Darlow is a good shot stopper I actually don't think he's brilliant and with De Vries as backup I wouldn't be that bothered if he left. His distribution is pretty poor and he's also not helped by Billy in time wasting at every free kick or goal kick he takes, he takes an eternity! Lascelles is good but I actually think he's very slow and gives players too much space, something he needs to improve on big time!

I hate the fact we're a club that if a Premier League club comes knocking in a transfer window, we more than likely have to sell. I remember last season as soon as the home shirt came out I got McGugan 10 on it, and then faced a very very nervous transfer deadline day.

Darlow and Lascelles are future stars and I've said before Darlow will be a first choice Premier League goalkeeper one day, but I really hope we don't sell him yet as I believe that Premier League club will be Nottingham Forest.

What about this 'out of date' manager who has given them both the chance to develop their careers with first team football at a club who consistently challenge for the play offs as a minimum. Help them both learn next to experienced players and give them long contracts. Neither would get near a premiership team at the minute so where the career development comes from playing reserve team football I've go no idea, the fact its a short career means you should be playing as much football as possible.

Lascelles has started 10 championship games, he needs to learn his trade by playing at a good club like Forest not chasing the bright lights yet. If he's good enough and he gets 100 games under his belt and we are not in the premiership hen h should think about moving, but even then he should be 99% sure its the right move.

Who is this progressive manager in the premiership? Poyet at Sunderland, his tactics are dour. The negativity on here is unbelievable.

I wouldn't say Spurs were a selling club. To some degree they are in a similar bracket to ManUtd. If Real Madrid want to pay £80M for your player nobody in the world is likely to turn it down (except maybe Real Madrid).

Must not sell if we've got any ambition

A few years ago when big money was offered for Lascelles and we kept him, half the people on here were going on about how stupid the club (in particular Mark Arthur) were for not cashing in. Damned if you do and damned if you don't......

True, but look where it got them. Modric and Bale were key in their success. I'm not saying Lacelles and Darlow are the same, but the routine is evident. Its the same reason MLS is shit.

Need to keep Laselles, Just like spurs did with Bale IF we ever get onto the prem he would need to prove himself before we cash in and they are both English so England might come a knocking.

Another challenge for Paul Taylor to see how many times he can get "it is understood" in a piece which is pure conjecture.

PL interest in a couple of impressive young Championship players is as inevitable as night follows day.

Taylor knows that, and being as unconnected with the club as he is, but still with a lot of back-page space to fill throughout the week, it's equally inevitable he'll exploit this.
