Contract Expiration Dates

As the current drama regarding Lansbury points out, we've got quite a few players again this year that are indeed out of contract in the summer.

According to TransferMarkt, the following players are out of contract in June (not including loans)
  • Matty Fryatt
  • David Vaughan
  • Chris Cohen
  • Joe Worrall
  • Michael Mancienne
  • Eric Lichaj
  • Henri Lansbury
  • Dani Pinillos
  • Jorge Grant

There are a couple potentially key players on there so I reckon we're in for another big turn around in players this summer.
The question of the thread is who would be in your keep pile and who would be in your release pile?

I'm sure I heard somewhere Jack Hobbs deal expires.

Edit: expires in June 2018 signed 4 and a half year deal in January 2014.

Lichajs contract expires in 2018: http://www.nottinghampost.com/eric-...est-contract/story-28910197-detail/story.html

of the others, this is what i would do:

Extend at all costs: Worrall

Extend unless they ask for ridiculous money: Lansbury, Mancienne

Extend on the cheap, if they are willing: Grant

Short Extension, with an option to extend if they play a certain amount of games: Pinillos, Cohen

Release: Fryatt, Vaughan

I'd keep Vaughan on another year deal. Pinnios on a year too. Sadly I think Cohen and Fryatt are done as professional players. I'd get rid of Mancienne as he's on north of £25k a week.

Lansbury will be off this month, as much as I would like us to keep him.

Worrall's contract needs to be extended at all costs, and we should also extend Pinillos for another year to see if he can prove his fitness (he is not on a massive wage anyway).

Sadly Cohen's time here is coming to an end as he just can't stay fit. I don't think Grant will make the grade here now either so it is time for him to move on. The rest can leave as they simply aren't worth the money we are paying them.

Worrall - extend, without a doubt.
Pinillos - extend, but I would be wary of his fitness.
Vaughan - extend (as above)
Lichaj - extend, no doubt

The rest I would get rid of. Fryatt is gone, sadly it looks like Cohen has had it (maybe employ in a coaching capacity as he deserves it).
I don't think Grant will make the grade.
Offer Lansbury a new deal but sell ASAP if he rejects it.
I like Mancienne but if his reported wage is correct I don't think we can afford to keep him.

Not for me via Vaughan. Great technition but he's the sort of player we need to move away from. He cannot physically run and can't play twice in a week.

I would extend Pinillos, Lansbury & Worrall. Reason I would extend Pinillos is he is one of our lowest earners.

Keep Worrall, Vaughan, Pinillos and Lansbury (depending on wages).

Release Fryatt, Cohen and Grant. In two minds over Mancienne, probably keep if we can afford his wages.

I'd keep Vaughan on another year deal.

Id urge you to reconsider on the strength of todays performance. He's gradually becoming devoid of any ideas going forward. He aint helped by the crap movement, but that wont change any time soon, sso we need someone who can cope.

The difference between Hourihane & Vaughn at the base was embarrassing.

Keep Mancienne, him and Hobbs are our best centre back pairing. Worrall is for the future, keep him, Dani P should stay too as he's a valuable part of the team.
Vaughan is a must keep too, but only on a year by year basis, no silly 3 or 4 year contracts.

Cohen as much as I'd love him around, I think he should sign to a player/coach role.

Fryatt? Well they'd have to find him first.

Lichaj and Worrall only out of that list should stay. Vaughan would be on it too if he wasn't slowing down.

I expected big things from Grant but he doesn't give enough on the pitch when I've seen him. Has talent, but is always anonymous.

Pinillos and Lansbury are key players so they need to stay, unless they demand ridiculous money.

Lichaj is a no brainer. He's a credit to the team.

Vaughan is too slow these days and we need to refresh.

Worrall must stay and Mancienne can be a useful squad player filling in at every position across the defence and holding midfielder. When you have a lot of injuries you need utility players to fill in. Unless we're able to bring back James Perch on half his wages...
