Still rewatching that goal, just mucking fagic.

Always strikes a sweet spot with me when there's a special bit of guile in goals, and this really hit that spot.
That is indeed absolutely fantastic technique. He looks to see where the goalie is, and then just cushions the header over him.

Superb stuff.

It's a bell weather of our season that Wood is the Top Scorer for the season and was the top scorer of the Month in October, December, January (Shared with Danilo & Awoniyi) and March.

And he is out of contract at the end of the season, and as a free agent we are going to be struggling to retain his services next season.
Unless we offer him a 4-year contract with a release clause if we get relegated, or if someone bids >£5m for him, and a massive wage increase.

I am sure we already have a £30m crock of shite from the Mendes stable lined up ready to replace him.

Sangare got worse yesterday as the half went on. But I could just sense though that the crowd were almost willing him to give the ball away so they could start howling and wailing. I don't think these people are helping, sorry.
I have to agree - where I was in LB - there were a group just in front of me that spent the whole half rubbishing Sangare and took every opportunity to hurl abuse at him. It was embarrassing.
You can tell he is struggling - but he, like the rest of the team, need our support not booing them - that just makes it worse.

From my experience, there's always been an element amongst our fanbase through the generations that cherish the notion of having someone to hurl abuse at. John McGovern, a better footballer than Sangaré, was subject to it even when we were dominating Europe.

John McGovern did not cost the 170's equivalent of £35m.
Nor did he pick a weekly paypacket equivalent to that which Sangare picks up.
And he was a much better footballer - you are spot on.
Sangare is attracting the boos because he is not just languid in his style.
He looks like he doesn't give a shit.
Supporters will back any player who gives his all.
They wont tolerate players who don't.

How then do you explain the regular booing of McGovern?

I was making a statement of fact, irrespective of who the player is or the circumstances surrounding him. I've disliked the singling-out of Forest players since I heard a section of our fans shamefully castigating Alan Hinton in the mid-60s. I didn't see what purpose it served back then, and I certainly don't now, whether the player in question cost an eye-watering amount or came through our youth system like Lee Glover, another disgraceful victim of it - along with Des Lyttle and Carlos Merino from recent memory. As with Hinton, McGovern and several others, they can't be accused of not giving their "all".

I can't quite believe how he has turned his Forest career around, we have to keep him for next season.
Well, he is now properly match-fit, and is showing why he has the reputation of being a goal scorer.

Give him the ball, and guess what happens?

8 goals in 9 Premier League games

He gets the nod ahead of Awoniyi now for me

(As much as I love Taiwo)
Yep I am with you. I love Taiwo too, but the club cannot depend on him if he cannot keep fit.

12 goals this season for Woody, including some absolute bangers.

I wouldn’t disagree with that, but in my experience you get that at most clubs. You can hear it on the telly or radio and from other teams’ games I’ve attended as a neutral I’ve heard much the same sort of thing from the home fans. Yes, football fans can be fickle, but I genuinely don’t think ours are any worse than anyone else’s in this respect.

I get he will want to make his money, if we stay in the Premiership I hope he wants to stay, he seems to be happy so why not?
