Caoimhin Kelleher [BUPA]

£30m lol.

Like asking 8 grand for a pack of already open cheese and onion crisps.

I would prefer more experience, 20 senior appearences at 24. You just don't know how good or bad he is.

Henderson is only a few months older than him.

That is not considering how much they apparently want.

I'd be hesitant at £10m for a player with such little experience, never mind £30m. No chance anyone is paying anything like that.

Is that Irish for Kevin?

He'd be a terrific signing. In my view, he'd be even better for us than Henderson because he's much more of a contemporary keeper who's really good with his feet and excellent in his distribution. But, good as he is, no one is going to buy him at that price, especially with a buy-back clause.
If there's any truth in those conditions, they're very unfair to the lad himself. If Liverpool want to keep him, they should loan him and let him get more experience. if they don't want to keep him they should let him go for a reasonable fee.

The Liverpool connection aside, he's looked a real good keeper when I've seen him play. I think 30 million is a bit steep, but not by very much. Having said that, I still hope we put in a bid for the Croatian guy.

I think he's better than Gavin Bazunu. The goalkeeping department is about the only area that Ireland are blessed in these days.

Bazunu signed for Southampton for £12m by the way. I would say £15m is about right for Kelleher. Not £30m.

Not sure Kev is a much better option than Henderson to be fair, similar age, though Kev's a better kicker from what I've seen. It's a lot of money for a keeper who's really only played in the cups.

Though he's at the other end of his career I'd much rather see Navas or Livakovic come in, the latter especially. Though this would be a good signing.

FFS let's just stick with Hennessey until Dean comes back

No need to panic buy a keeper who would need a few games to bed in anyway
I agree really, if Henderson is out for a few weeks then playing a guy that has made a few appearances already and has a world cup campaign behind him makes more sense than signing someone who lacks game time and top flight experience altogether.

I think if it is the end of Henderson season then that's different but we do have a guy out on loan thats an international with 10 clean sheets so far this season as well so no need to panic buy imho.

FWIW I do like Kelleher but not for us and not for big money.

That's a very accurately misleading way to describe Horvath.

He has 8 US caps and is very much 2nd or 3rd choice keeper, probably 3rd behind Turner and Steffen in all honesty. The last time he played for them was in June 2022.

10 clean sheets but in a side which is what, 9th in the 2nd tier, and who have conceded more than they have played?

If he wasn't ours - and let's not forget there are plenty on here slagging off Hennessey - there wouldn't be anyone suggesting he is good enough for us or to play in the PL.

He didn't let us down last season when Samba went a bit weird but then actually he didn't really look that comfortable either.

He's never really played much or been first choice anywhere really except Luton this season.

If he's 30m, how much would hendo cost ?
It's a good question. If we survive, he will be seen as a goalkeeper that kept 2 teams up whilst having top 6 ambitions and only 25 years old. I'd say you're looking at a minimum of £40M and more likely £60M

Not sure agree.
None of the top clubs will look at Henderson unless his distribution improves. Same goes for clubs abroad who can afford that type of money. Maybe Tottenham will be desperate for a keeper but no way Levi pays anything like that. Pickford will also be looking for a new club too.

That severely limits the transfer fee Man U can expect, plus they'll be desperate to offload this summer.
