Actually, is that even possible yet? When does the transfer window open?
Officially, July 1st.
Although of course that doesn't stop deals being done in advance, with the player said to be "joining on July 1st".

Macheda would come with zero pressure. Zero expectation. At a young age, with plenty to prove. Perfect.

From us? Surprised, club said he's not a target.
Also coventry said we've not been in contact:

Any player hitches or bollox from the agents then we should move onto the next target.
There's plenty of footballers good enough for this poor Second Division.
I've got a feeling Forest should buy him still, even at £3m. Even if we buy him and don't go up immediately we'll still have him for a number of seasons unless any club wants to pay more than we paid in the first place (assuming he signs a decent contract and also that he's well worth a place in the team and would be a star player - maybe too easy to use Youtube to judge that but it seems like he would wheras if we're lucky I'm thinking Fryatt and the Dutch lad could be worth a place in the team although it's not inconceivable with our midfield that they could fire us to promotion).
If all the lesser fees spent on players that haven't been enough to win promotion are added up it amounts to a lot. I feel like this could be an opportunity to get a talented striker in and it could end up paying off. I know Pearce has scouted him though - if he is interested I don't think £3m should put him off although of course it's Fawaz's money (he has been prepared to spend though and would have bought Austin for more last season).
We could offer use of the City Ground for any home cup ties they get this season. It's about as close as Northampton's stadium and much bigger.I agree too he does look good. I don't know what bournemouth offered but coventry are obviously in serious financial doo-doo so I don't think they will hold out for long.

A good shout to a degree and we probably could of offered for the entire season but we are merely tenants and that would need approval from Rushcliffe council who aren't exactly forthcoming when it comes to working with NFFC.
It's a centre for business entertainment and sport with a hotel.?What do they actually use the Ricoh for these days? Is it really just sitting empty?
We're not tenants, we own the ground. The council owns the land it's built on IIRC. They have no say over anything. Don't know the details but I presume it's a 1000 year leasehold or something.
It's the City Council that own the ground http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-18852686
