Callum James Hudson-Odoi

I think he is another player who is going to attract considerable interest this summer. He's our best wide player, quite easily. A bit inconsistent, but wingers tend to be inconsistent entities, so that is a normal aspect for a wide man, for me.
I would agree. Has also proven his fitness can stand up to it, in the second half of the season anyway.

Comparing the cut-in and curl merchants:

CHO: cost £3m, premier league goals 7; assists 1

Antony: cost £86m, G1 A1

Or in other words 1 Antony costs 28.6 CHOs, or to have enough Antonys to match CHO's output it would cost £344m.
5 goals 8 assists on the other side from the lad who wouldn't have cost them a penny. Elanga may not have had quite the same impact post injury lay off, but he's still creating.

CHO and Elanga know what it's like being at the big teams (not all that great) and neither sparkled while at those teams to suggest super strong interest from that level of team again so there is a good chance we will keep both for a long time which I am delighted about.

We should keep looking for players in similar circumstances this summer

Bukayo Saka is another player who everyone knows is going to come inside and shoot in one swift body movement.

Although it looks predictable, it's not always that easy to stop if it's a player whose hips don't lie (Shakira, Shakira), a player who simply waits, draws you in and teases you to make a challenge to foul them, then just jinks in an instant with a quick-fire shot.

Hudson-Odoi was top drawer at doing that in his Chelsea days and looked a huge talent. It was mainly the injuries he needed to get over and to gain some confidence in his body. You can see why Chelsea at the time turned down bids in excess of £30m for him. One other bid was a loan with an option to buy at £70m, which Chelsea turned down too.

What an absolute bargain and he looks to be enjoying his football again.

He was brilliant today. And not just for his superb skills -- also for his courage and guts. With Wood losing it, MGW quite poor, Elanga looking lost, we desperately needed someone to stand up and make things happen for us. He had the mental strength to do that. The really good players do it in the big games when their team needs them most and he passed that test with flying colours today.
