That scrape on his achilles which didn't break him has given him the confidence of a man on a bag of coke.
This in buckets. 3 very good signings. Happy to CHO get his confidence back after his injuries.3M was it? This deal, along with the Elanga and Murillo are some outstanding value signings given the returns so far.
Occurs to me that, although the replay wasn't good for him, in the month or so since I wrote this he's really kicked on with three goals and an assist in the last five games.I think the replay will be good for him, in that it's another opportunity to build form/fitness... (As long as he can avoid that dirty twat #2)
Edit: probably also good for him to be playing without Elanga for a game or two as more will come his way.
I'm just pleased that when replacing Cooper we bought someone else in who knows what he's capable of (which probably comes from Nuno's tracking of MGW through the England youth setup when he was his manager): rehabbing Hudson Odoi into the player we know he can be was always going to take time, and while I think we have plenty more to come, the last month or so represents a big step forward from where he was at on loan last year.Yeah, I've been critical of him, but even when I was getting frustrated at his lack of bravery and confidence, I could see how infrequently he gives the ball away. Now he's a lot more positive and progressive but still very tidy with the ball, very rarely wastes possession. Delighted for him and 3 in 3 will surely do him the world of good.
That's something I'd noticed too. We're so used to wingers being the players who you accept will lose the ball, it's a massive bonus to have someone who can recognise when he won't get passed someone and instead of trying anyway just makes sure we retain the ball to go again.I could see how infrequently he gives the ball away
Don’t think it was an exclusive… https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/mar/15/callum-hudson-odoi-chelsea-nottingham-forestNice interview with him here where he goes into the injury/healing process slightly more than you'd expect for Yahoo sports: https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/callum-hudson-odoi-m-only-141353332.html
