BUPA - Kalvin Phillips

In all seriousness, he's been injured a lot and seemed to go a bit billy big bollocks

I would put him a tier below the likes of Sangare.

No doubt he improves us, though.

More chance of Kevin Phillips.

@Bonfy177 sorry pal.

Do you not think Man City would be more inclined to loan him to a bottom half team, rather than hepling a club in and around the European spots?
Counts us out then🙂

Sauce salad?
I'd take him but I really can't see it.

As an aside while I understand he did very well in the prem for Leeds, I never loved him in his championship days - always felt he was on the edge of a red card. Great rise to the top though, and he must have something to have attracted Pep in the first place, though I'm not altogether surprised it hasn't worked out.

In fairness he's always looked decent when I've seen him for England, so perhaps I'm just remembering his raw stage?

I dunno about Phillips - there's a whiff of the Ross Barkley about him ...
Would that whiff be a fragant mixture of arrogance, beer, stale fags and failure combined with just a hint of Jonjo attitude scent.

Hot and cold on Phillips. A myriad of injury issues the past couple of seasons. Having said that, a perfect fit to play in between the two wingbacks. Can't see City loaning him to any title contending team.

Maybe not a title winning team but what about a spurs type team. He becomes their anchor yet can’t play against them.

Nah still too risky now they've got a top manager.

Brighton or Villa tops.
Wouldn't necessarily call Ange a top manager, though I think he has the potential to do well.

Let's not forget Neil Lennon won the SPL 5 times at Smelltic

I know spurs fans are happy with the shift of mentality, but they are miles away. I lump BHA and Villa in that group anyway as it stands.

City would be happy to disrupt that anchor from their team in both games against them.

Would be a decent loaner. Also, imagine how pissed off Leeds fans would be if we took him and threw them Shelvey 🤣

Maybe.

Think Ange is gonna surprise a few people this year.

Maybe Cooper's friendship with Southgate could help with this one. Would be a very good signing in my opinion. Was saying to my lad today that it's a waste of talent having players like Phillips with a lot of ability/potential sat on benches for the best part of their careers

I think he's dug his own grave at City. He looked pudgy last season (Pep discussed his fitness issues in the press, I believe) and on a club like that not fit means you watch.

I remember when he first came he made all the players lose another x amount of kilos. These weren’t fatties, it was devout professionals like David silva. But any extra kilo you carry increases chances of injury. As you say if a player isn’t as dedicated to that they are out until they are.
