Re: Brice Samba - „Magic Hands“

If only Joe Worrall had a slab head like Harry Maguire. That deflection would have ballooned back to half way, instead of into the Forest net.

Really good save from Mbuemo that. Good comeback after a couple of disappointing goals conceded in previous games.

Football basics 101:
Don't EVER wait for the ball to come to you, go to it.

Football basics 101(b):
Any ball in the penalty area is the goalkeepers problem.
And it's all just a little bit of history repeating

Made a couple of good saves today but at fault again for the 3rd goal. Worse though was when he rushed out of his area to push Brentford player over. Don't know why he wasn't sent off. Just don't find him easy to love like most on here.

His best asset is his distribution, and now that's gone to shit recently as well. I'd rather play Smith.

Made two of our best passes all game today, one where Lolley won a free kick in a dangerous position...and memory fails me on the second haha. I remember messaging my brother about it, maybe over the top to Taylor?

Couple of great saves today, two goals where he couldn't do anything, one goal he could have done better...almost like he's a good championship goal keeper but not a top player world class player...which is still better than most of the average championship players he's in the team with imo

People just need to stop overanalysing him and let him be. He is a good keeper.

Put it this way, Samba is not close to being the reason why we are near the bottom.

Not at all. He was at fault for the 3rd goal, but also made a stunning save.

Best thing Samba can do is find a new club where he isn't going to be dragged down by fans grasping at scapegoats every 2 minutes.

overhyped and overrated. a few of our first teams need a rude wakeup call but hughton is too stubborn to change a losing team.

Agreed.

It’s regency bias. Do people forget how poor Jordan Smith is, or just remember that save against Ipswich? And then the guy who we signed in the summer... wasn’t he released by a second division Turkish team.

Samba is a good keeper at this level, but he isn’t good enough to carry a defence that is full of mistakes.

Excellent keeper at this level. In a side losing its easy to criticise everyone. You won’t be able to get a better keeper at this club, keepers better than Samba play in the top flight.

Fig's brother Cristiano is a goalkeeper. We should sign him up as competition.

Exactly this stick him in a team and expect him to save 10 shots a match and he will make mistakes. Put him in a team where he has to make one outstanding save a match and his your man. Same with Alison at Liverpool was ropey before they got van diyk in front of him, not saying samba is as good as Allison but they are the same kind of keeper.

Anyone other than the keeper makes a mistake it's a misplaced pass or a dodgy first touch, a keeper makes a mistake it's a goal. Its easy to call out a keeper.

Goalkeepers WILL make mistakes, better ones make them less often. You look at all the top keepers in the world and they all have stinkers. Samba doesn't cost us many goals, certainly not compared to a keeper at this level.
