Goodness me. Don't tease us all like that.https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5735351/2024/08/31/nottingham-forest-transfer-window-2024/
Mentioned in the passage “There was a strong possibility that forest would try to bring him back.”
I would love him back at the CG. Although it would be harsh on Sels (who was superb tonight), his distribution takes us to another dimension. He was indeed sat in the Main stand.
Yep, still my favourite ever Forest keeper, but when you have the 2nd best defence in the league, you don't rock the keeper boat.Should never have left but that's history now and we've moved on
Good to see him back at the City Ground though

The king was 6 months too late on his return.
Yep single handedly dragged us through the last moments of that match and into the playoff final.I watched the play off semi final highlights with my son the other day, and i still can't believe he saved that shot near the end of extra time. Add on the 3 penalty saves and this guy literally got us to Wembley that night and it was the best night i've ever had at The City Ground. Forest legend no doubt!
If he knows we're sniffing around Samba or others, this might explain his upturn in form. If Sels keeps performing the way he has been, then there's no need for Samba or anyone else. I suppose time will tell whether it's just taken him a bit of time and a settled defence to bring the best out of him, or whether he's just hit a purple patch.Apparently according to an unreliable Twitter account we are in negotiations for him in January.
Sels must wonder what he's got to do to convince.
I can't really remember Sels having a shaky period for us since he joined. Or is that just because I was comparing him to Turner? If he knows we're sniffing around Samba or others, this might explain his upturn in form. True, he's not been shaky. He's been decent but unspectacular (until the last few games). Much better than Turner, infinitely better than Vlach the Imposter, but I think a lot of us wondered whether we could do better. He made the odd great save, not dropped many rickets but seemed to concede a lot of goals. Maybe upturn in form has harsh connotations. Progressed to another level is probably more accurate. I was never desperate to get him out of the team (still think we need another striker as priority rather dicking about the keepers again), but he also didn't seem like the long-term option, just a competent stopgap. He's proving me and a lot of others wrong at the minute. Delighted for the bloke.I can't really remember Sels having a shaky period for us since he joined. Yeah, I totally agree. I think we brought him in to steady the ship. Just someone that's not going to lose us games.
