Be interesting to see if he features at all in the League Cup tomorrow night.

What with that cup-tieing him if he were to leave.

Is that really a big deal these days, when no team seems too bothered about the league cup unless they happen to make the semis.

The guys a bit of a twat, tbh.

I know he's his dad but I do wish DJ would not bother commenting on anything regarding his son, you can see how it is gonna go.

It is not gonna end well, every word he says will be hyper analysed & the abuse will come when things don't suit Forest.

6 hours later...

He has always been a nob, it is inevitable there is gonna be a fallout.

David Johnson is really showing his true colours now with comments like that, he will make his son Billy Big Bollocks and it will end in tears. His world beating Messi MK11 of a son had one good year at Lincoln and now the best thing he could do would be to get a season in the championship and see what happens then

He’s always been a cock has DJ. One good season and he got paid a f***ing fortune for it, maybe he should remember how much we paid him while sat on his arse with a broken leg.

Bang on about what?!

I think the point David Johnson was trying to make - perhaps a little inelegantly - was that the sale of Academy graduates effectively funds the Academy?

From memory, the Nigel Doughty Academy „cost“ somewhere around £1.5m a season to run (that was before category one, though) and the logic therefore is that a successful graduate who might have joined Forest on youth terms (effectively for no additional outlay originally, bar wages) then generates a substantial profit when he is sold.

For example, the sales of Oliver Burke (£13m), Arvin Appiah (£7m) and Matty Cash (£16m) would then generate substantial profit, some of which could then be put back into the Academy to keep it running.

That, I think, is the point Johnson Sr. is trying to make.

To be honest it would be better for him to keep off social media because IMO he is digging himself a big hole and doing his son no favours

This is great advice but anyone who wasn’t a total dick wouldn’t need to be given it.

DJ has been well paid by Forest over the years. Apart from one season he hasn’t repaid it. He still hangs off Forest coat tails and has for years. The very least you would expect is that he just buttoned it and had a bit of respect for the club. He can do right by his son and even not act in the best interests of Forest (which he has no reason to do so) and act with a bit of class.

Given this will end in tears because his dad is twat let the bidding begin whilst he is a wanted man because he as only had one good season.
I don’t want him to go but he is not bigger than the club and he as a dad who is a always going to be a trouble maker

Just let him play out the next two years on £2k a week or whatever he is on. Then if he has done the biz we have had a cheapo player producing for us and we will still get a good fee in summer 2023. As much as BJ / DJ need to do right by BJ the club need to do right by themselves and if a compromise can’t be found then so be it.

If was Brennan I'd be telling his Dad thank you for his support to this point but kindly f*** off from Social media.

I've spoken to DJ a couple of times and whilst some of what he said is correct in terms of how the club go about things, others he is f***ing miles off in terms of the academy. I've been in around the Academy system for years and got the coaching badges, yes his son was in it but in terms of coaching and academies the bloke knows f*** all.

I’m not being funny but it doesn’t take the brain of Britain to know Forest have been going about things tge wrong way!! For twenty years! The fact we signed that one trick pony for £3.5m over Robbie Blake for £500k was the first of a million mistakes on the trot !

Hang on, didn't DJ's wife leave him and he trashed the place a few years back? Yet all of a sudden its friendly and they're watching Brennan train?

Is that for real? What a complete twat, had the msn got no self respect?

If his plan was to drum up support for his son he as f**ked up big time,he is just alienating his son with the fans because of his meddling and shit he keeps posting on social media

Gonna end up f***ing his own media ‘career’ too at this rate. At this rate his son will be getting a tenth of his value in wages for two seasons and he will have burnt all his bridges. Genius. Good job there is a bit of football talent in there.

Despite what I say I have no ill feelings towards Brennan. Whether he stays or goes he seems a genuinely decent young man who wants to succeed so good luck to him. I wish he had a better mentor.
