Out of curiousity, why are they announcing the subsequent two hosts in 2010? Do they always do them in twos?

No, I don't think they do.
It's something to do with when South Africa lost to Germany in 2006 by one vote and there was a sort of Gentlemen's agreement between FIFA and the SAFA for 2010 to be in Sithfrica.

It's something to do with when South Africa lost to Germany in 2006 by one vote and there was a sort of Gentlemen's agreement between FIFA and the SAFA for 2010 to be in Sithfrica.

They'll announce the hosts for both 2018 and 2022 on Dec 2nd 2010. They've never announced two hosts on the same day before.
There wasn't a gentleman's agreement, FIFA invented a 'rotation system' (which has since been disbanded) meaning that the 2010 tournament had to be in Africa (and 2014 had to be in South America), however they still had a bidding process. South Africa beat Morocco by a few votes.
Brazil won the 2014 tournament as they were the only country submit a bid.
