I agree and think he's the Elanga replacement, I wish Elanga was a bit better in front of goal but he's given us some great memories and I'll be sad to see him go if he does.

Given the money they have I'm kinda surprised Newcastle are targeting Elanga, you'd imagine they'd be straight in for someone like Yilmaz who isn't exactly in the unknown quantity category?

The more I think of it, the more I doubt that Yılmaz is targeted merely as a winger. Given the lack of affordable strikers, and the young Turk's attributes (he's very good in playing with his back to the opponent's goalpost, passing the ball to players around him), I suspect he will also play -if bought- as a center forward (a false nine if you will), a position he has often played in Turkey.

Looking at the stats he doesn’t strike me as anything special. Only seen a bit of him so happy to be told I’m wrong.

Hard worker though by the looks of it. Defensive stuff is very positive and takes people on a lot. But doesn’t seem to have a particularly great end product.

Sort of signing that made more sense when we were looking at the bottom of the table rather than the top.

Maybe I’m getting greedy

I wouldn't normally believe Turkish media links- as we all know all to well (f*** you Ekrem), but this seemed a lot more credible than most.

As you can see- there's even a photograph of it on the front of some kind of news/sports paper.

I seem to remember this guy looking particularly impressive at Euro 2024.

Worked his bollocks off, fought for every ball, tracked back & showed real quality when crossing. I remember thinking he'd fit right in with us after recalling we were in for him.

yeah thats what i thought they seem to be more credible than the God which is Ekrem, This lad seems he can play anywhere on the pitch
