What we did as a Championship side has zero bearing on what we should be doing as a Premiership side. Yes loans worked for us there due to the constraints we were under by FFP.

Whether he is a world beater or not, I don’t really care, I don’t think our football club should be developing youngsters for other clubs. Especially a club like Chelsea who’s modus operandi seems to be buy any young player in world football to stop anyone else from having them.

Stand by what I said originally, it isn't worth the faff especially when the parent team have an expectation around playing time.

In his three games for Strasbourg so far he's only played 25 minutes more than he played for us. 23-24 not really been a great year for him.

Finally getting his run of games now and has seven goals and an assist from 15 games for Strasbourg. Not a bad return for a defensive midfielder!

£60m is a bit ridiculous but he clearly has something. Both him and Loic Bade haven't exactly painted Cooper in the best light in hindsight.

I saw that article, from the Express, and I don't think we did.

The headline does say that Chelsea rejected a £45 million bid from us - but in the article itself it said West Ham had bid, and the only mention of us was that he'd been on loan here.

I suspect they've used AI to generate the headline, and as usual it's managed to conflate things and ultimately get it wrong. Either that or they've got a really, really shit sub-editor.

Yeah, the article itself was dreadful, though there was a rumour doing the rounds earlier in the window that Santos had rejected the idea of rejoining us. Whether it got so far as a bid I've no idea, but I believe we had/have interest.
