Alternate Henderson options

While I don't think Henessy is as dire a prospect between the sticks as some in here, I can't really argue against the impact of a player with Navas' pedigree and experience in that run in. Same with Felipe.
I agree. I don't particularly rate Hennessey, but he'd probably be okay for the odd game or two. But having him in goal from January onwards wouldn't have ended well. It was really important that we brought in a quality keeper in January and Navas was exactly what we needed IMO.

Hennessey wasn't that bad, if he actually dived instead of just plopping down, he would be fine. Once our injured players came back , our ball retention was better and our team looked much better,

Sauce salad?
Mystic Gyros goalie prediction: We sign the yank on strike or the Monza lad as choice 2 shortly, with the Henderson deal going right down to the deadline day wire (arsenal lad the last ditch backup), with Horvath heading out on the same day.

I’m starting to see some kind of Stockholm syndrome developing here with regard to Wayne Hennessey’s goalkeeping ability, so I’ll nip this in the bud right now.

Hennessey is terrible. He was terrible in his prime when he was Wales number one and he’s even worse now. I wouldn’t want him to start for us in the Championship, let alone the Prem.

I'll raise you a Lima condition - he _really_ likes you.

Nottingham's dirty secret
i doubt that's really true. Navas was part of the team that went on a 11 matches winless streak on a straight path to relegation if it wasn't for the return of the injured players mainly niakhate and awoniyi who played a key role in forest survival.
Without signing Navas (and sticking with Hennessy) we'd have been down 100% in my opinion.

I have no doubts at all about that.

Hennessey is never long term , but he's better than the likes of stephen henderson.

I mean, yes of course.

In the same way that being kicked in the bollocks is better than being stabbed repeatedly in the face.

But those aren’t the only two choices, and I’d rather neither, personally.

I don’t know what your thing is against Navas but you aren’t thinking rationally about this. Navas was also part of that run at the end. He played his part as much as the other players coming back. He also produced a match winning display v Leeds at home. Hennessy plays instead of Navas and we would have been relegated.

I must admit I'm still a bit surprised that the whole "Navas ain't good enough" is still being discussed.

He did well for us, he probably also faced more shots in his games for us than he did in most of the previous 10 years full seasons. I do think that in particular Joe benefited from playing in front of him and alongside Felipe too.

I would have him back with no issue at all, if its the reverse of last season where he stays until January and then Deano came in for the second bit of the season then that would be fine as well, there was very little to choose between the two performance wise imho.

Forest this season have had more rejections than the elephant man.

Ross, it's not your own money, don't go shopping in Harrods if you are only going to offer pound land prices.

Getting hard to keep up with keepers who have been linked now, doesn't seem like this one is gonna happen so will just stick it in here.

Matheus Cunha, 22 year old Brazilian at Flamengo, bid rejected:

We asked them to name their price for their first choice keeper and they said no, because their window is already closed.

Great work Ross. You’d think we’d make our enquiries about players from Brazil while their window was still open, but obviously not.

ross must have found mark arthur old transfer playbook, bid low when the transfer window is open, bid higher when the window is closed.
