That pretty much applies to any player we've loaned out under Cooper - not a single one has forced their way back into his thinking.
Agreed - I just think some people still expect Mighten to develop into the next BJ but it seems to me like his ceiling is much lower than hoped.

Kortrijk is a lovely old city, plenty of culture and things to see.

God help Alex if he comes back with a Walloon accent, though.

Some of the players who've been around a while (or Andy Reid) would wonder where Second Choice Schteve was

Shows how f**ked football finances are.
The minimum income from the last set of accounts in the Premier League was £123m which was Burnley.

If my math is correct & taking that as an absolute minimum, a player earning £10,000 a week will represent 0.0042% of their annual income. The Premier League actually has wages under control for what clubs earn. The Championship and below is another issue however. A player on £10,000 a week in the Championship is probably the equivalent of over £100,000 in the Prem - and the average Championship wage is probably more than £10,000 a week!

That's such a precise figure for Mighten. Surely his agent could've pushed for £3,500 a week unless Forest weren't willing to go the extra £38...

That seems a very nuanced list.
Alex isn't a current Premier League player, as he's out on loan.
Also, if he was here, he'd be part of our U21s group - and I'd assume Fin Back and Ollie Hammond are on less, but they don't make the list?
I'd also add George Shelvey, Konate, and Larsson should probably be listed ahead of Mighten - given they're all at the club this season, all a year older than him so technically are no longer U21s, and all likely on lower wages.

I had discounted them - as being over the age of 21 and not in the squad of 25, you could technically say they are not eligible to play in the Premier League (although, technically they could have done, in the games that were played before the 25 had to be finalised...something which still annoys me).

Mighten is on £180k a year and Hause is on £420k according to that list. That's what makes the weekly conversion look specific.

I think you need to adjust your calculation -
10k x 52 weeks = 520k which is 0.42% of 123m

Most PL Clubs have wages at an acceptable percentage of turnover - normally around 70%. However, this is the problem relegated clubs face even if they have relegation clauses in contracts.

Financial sustainability rules, whilst not perfect, do offer some total control on player wages. This is why it is important that clubs are properly held to account when they breach the permitted losses.

Deduction of points in PL is rare so the outcome of the Everton case will be interesting - possible appeal and/or an outcome that includes suspending some of the points for a given period subject to future FFP compliance.

Players wages are established over length of contract and paid in monthly instalments.
The weekly wage is just so everyone can grasp the insanity of players' wages.

Plus there's always the bonus factor, which folk usually ignore.
Most players‘ contracts are highly incentivised, with bonuses for appearances, victories, goals, clean-sheets, and other points. Whilst a player might indeed have a fixed „minimum“, it is not uncommon to earn substantially more with incentives.

What do we think will happen to young Alex now he's been recalled? What do we think should happen? Is he still classed as u21?

Yes, I am lazy. Might VAR turn some of those agricultural Championship challenges into penalties or presentable free-kicks, or will he never drop a shoulder and get half-a-yard on the likes of Jack Robinson?

Is he really fated to finish his playing days at Vancouver Whitecaps before going on to enjoy a lucrative second career as a realtor?

Young Alex, only you (and possibly Nuno Espirito Santo) can decide.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Coops taking him to his next club. I think he really fancied him.
