Good luck to him. He needs regular first team football and hopefully this will see him come on in leaps and bounds.

Good luck, really pleased he's gone to a decent league 1 side. Hopefully he gets games time and plenty of goals.

Exactly this. Moore wants us playing football but at times it seems like possession for possessions sake. Mighten should give us that extra pace and directness to run at defence’s.

If the kid can have a similar level of impact as Johnson did for Lincoln, then it’s going to be great year for him and us. The reaction amongst our fans to the signing is a thumbs up, and you’ll all know that us Wednesdayite’s will always back someone who comes in and takes pride in the shirt, albeit in this case for just a year.

Good luck to the kid. This season will hopefully be one of celebration for both clubs.

Time for the Greek who will never understand the British loan mentality to moan about the fact that he is loaned out two leagues below your own. And for you to pelt me with counter-arguments and to point out that I will never understand the British loan mentality.
Out of interest what would a side like Olympiakos do with young players that aren't getting near the team? Do they just stay in the u23s/B team?

I wouldn't make too many Johnson comparisons, but yeah, get him running at folk and hopefully he'll cause problems. I might get try to get over to have a look how he's getting on at some point. Hope he does well for you - top club Wednesday.

Glad for Mighten, seems a decent kid and has shown promise. I'm not sure he'll make it at the top level but he's probably good enough for bottom end Championship so Wednesday have a good deal there.

Always liked Wednesday as a club too, belong in the Premier League really in place of some tinpot shite like Bournemouth or Brentford. We're united too in our utter disdain of their city rivals so it must've been sweet for them to see Samba shithouse them so well.

It's always confused me the difference in the fan bases in Sheffield. Very rarely hear the scab/ miners stuff from Wednesday, they're usually well humoured and usually despite larger numbers is a peaceful afternoon off the pitch at Hillsborough. United on the other hand, Scabs chant from minute 1, don't thing I've ever been there and not seen trouble or heard of trouble and the whole vibe is very different.

Anyway back on topic, he's unfortunately not close to Johnson levels, but is still very young and always been a prospect. His first team opportunities with us has been hampered by injury and formation a little bit. However always looks purposeful and is well thought off. A great loan for all parties. Hopefully he kicks on.

I’ve lived here since 2012 and have yet to find a Forest fan who prefers United over ourselves.

As for them, they like to play up to the tag of being the inner city club and having that tough guy reputation.

There’s a saying we have though, which they hate.. “Older, bigger, better”

Don’t forget we were playing at Bramall Lane before they were even formed!

Sheffield United can only be described as a scummy club, supported by scrotes. I will never forget that playoff semifinal sequence last year-after that I will despise that club and Higginbottom until the day I die.
Don't feel the same antagonism towards the Wendies but its been a long time since we've really been rivals which is a terrible shame as objectively we are two of the oldest and greatest clubs in England and it should be a great rivalry...

...And I hope that Mighten does a good job for you.
Hes a great kid with loads of talent and if you can get him focused on output you will have a player on your hands....

There has been a mutual respect between yourselves and Wednesday for as long as I’ve been alive, and I’m in my 40’s.

The amount of players who have appeared for both clubs must be a pretty large one. Sir Des, Chapman, Antonio and Carr are the first that spring to mind. Then of course we had Brian Laws in charge for a bit, who I thought was a good manager for us, but unfortunately at the wrong time. He was in charge when we did the double over United and ended up running down the touchline waving a Wednesday scarf in the game at our place. He was still doing some work covering both Forest and Wednesday for the BBC the last time I checked.

Plus we have the shared hoodoo of the Ginger Mourinho having played for and managed both clubs (loosely speaking in our case)...

Wednesday probably my second "favourite" club now if you could call it that.

Used to be Crewe until they went full on Prince Andrew mode.

Megson was a great player for us but despite building a promotion winning squad didn't have a clue how to manage them.

Mandaric sacked him a few days after we'd beat the pigs, appointed Dave Jones and we went roughly 15 unbeaten to clinch automatic at the other lots expense.

It's no coincidence that he's never managed since. The bloke was a managerial dinosaur.

No way he’s a wing back. Forget it.
Unless you remove the “back” then he’s a wingback
I was going to say the same thing.

But then I remembered I once said something similar about Matty Cash - and Wing-Backs these days seem to be attackers who try to learn how to defend on the job (whereas it used to be the other way around), so guess we'll have to wait and see.

Hasn’t he been playing as a wing back in the Notts & Grimsby games?

He did - (and made a better first of it in the latter), but it felt like a move to shoehorn him into those sides into a position we were short and wanted to get minutes into other players in his 'preferred position' whilst resting the usual RWB, rather than a deliberate positional conversion, but who knows?
