Interesting to go back over the years and look at who else they tipped.

Over the past five years the only players who are household names are Bukayo Saka, Mason Greenwood (oops) and Aaron Ramsey. Obviously scholars in the last 2-3 years won't have broken through yet as too young but that's still 40-60 players who might have, and only three have.

2017 was decent mind: Hudson Odoi, Curtis Jones, Nathan Collins, Anthony Gordon and Oliver Skipp.

2016 was poor with Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson only.

2015 was even worse with Trent Alexander Arnold only.

Missing entirely are players like Phil Foden, Ebereci Eze, Marc Guehi, Connor Gallagher, Declan Rice, Ben Chiwell, Reece James...
Similar trends with ATP players and former junior world number 1s. Andy Murray reached 2 in the world as a junior but quite a few didn't make it who were number 1s, certainly not establishing themselves as top 10 players.

Jannik Sinner didn't even play juniors. His coaching staff decided that at the age of 16/17 he was better off playing futures and working his way up playing in the mens game but at the lower levels. Doesn't seem to have held him back.

Whilst Holger Rune, who is a former #1 at 16, is now struggling a bit and has actually appointed Boris Becker as a coach today, presumably for the mentality - players often now appoint former multi GS winners to coach them because they have the experience of doing it. It probably won't be too long before someone takes on Federer or Nadal as a coach...

Let us just hope that the youngster doesn‘t appoint Boris to look after his money, at the same time!

I was gonna say, Rune need not ask for help with his taxes...

Lot of hirings planned for the academy

Though I have to say, I can just about stomach the need for an Academy Kit Manager, I have to draw the line at Academy Assistant Kit Executive. I really need to see the differentiation in roles and responsibilities.

.

Forest are magic on and off the pitch!

I’m thinking of applying for the Casual Academy Sports Therapist job. I hate having to dress up for work!

U21’s have their second match in the Premier League International Cup tonight against Nice U21 at the WFCG tonight. 7pm ko.
They lost the first game against PSV so it’s time to bounce back tonight.
Brandon Aguilera in the side.

Scintillating updates from the official account, so far they told me it’s kicked off and that’s it’s half time. Cheers.
I checked the OS well after full-time Steve to find out who scored and for a report. I really should have known better.

I would be providing updates via Twitter, but, I'm dealing with a few things, so the account I have is on the backburner for the moment.

Just in case anyone is waiting for the ticket details for Tuesday night’s EFL Trophy game at Doncaster, you can buy tickets in the away section through the Doncaster Rovers ticket website.

Judging by the seating plan some fans already seem to have bought their tickets, but as far as I can see Forest haven’t yet said anything about it so, as I wasn’t, people might be aware of this.

Big night for the academy, weather permitting. EFL trophy for the U21s and a trip to Grimsby for the U18s in the FA Youth Cup.
Good luck to all

1200 or so at Donny tonight, with 258 from Forest (thats the figures I was given).
Solid performance in the first half, but, the goal just before half time took the wind from the sails, and the second half performance wasn't as great.
The likes of Josh Powell and Zach Abbott will go a very long way in the game though.

How was my boy Konate?

You can see he has talent but has a habit of over-playing & loses the ball far too often. He desperately needs a move & to start playing senior Football more regularly.

I thought McDonnell in CM was the pick of the Forest players.

Konate was doing OK but was guilty, as you say, of trying to overplay. Linked up really well with Aguilera, but, missed Osong up front.

We’re in danger of wasting Konate. Lad needs testing at a higher level - overplaying a tell tale sign of being unchallenged, like a disruptive super bright school kid

Well, he'll need to be loaned out as he's an '01 so would need to be registered in the 25 to play for us, and he isn't good enough for that.
