I presume he won Oscars?

I think the best line ever on tv is “if i can’t puke up and vomit in the comfort of my own home then where in the name of god am I meant to do it”. 🤣

Scored the winner for Port Vale earlier. It's encouraging to see that he's doing well there and getting plenty of gametime.
I'll guarantee you he'll get called up to the Northern Ireland senior team sooner rather than later. We've literally got nothing else and O'Neill will need to build a team for the future, starting now

I thought this lad was a genuine prospect for us.

So why has he gone off to play in that tinpot league?

Because maybe he’ll fill his boots and come back brimming with confidence?

Guess it's also the league we got McKenna from...

But it is tinpot. Plus I notice that they have another kid LB who's only about a year older than Aaron on loan from the scousers.

As for Joe, well.... I guess Karanka felt he needed experience, it did work out for him there, but personally, I think he would have got that here, considering we signed Hefele to cover for him going, and later on went down to basically no CBs and Martin had to get Benalouane and Milosevic in quickly. Joe would have played most of that season too and at a higher level than he did.

Because he wasn't a genuine prospect.

Happens with so many youth players,... fans think highly of them but based on sentiment and not footballing matters.

It's more valuable experience for the lad. I assume that Ross Wilson has used his Scottish connections to sort out this loan, and possibly the deal with Hibs to take Riley Harbottle on a permanent.

I think this is a good move for him. Will give him more exposure and a different experience than he got at Port Vale.
Perhaps following this with a Championship loan next season would be a natural progression.

We send them to that league, not to improve their game, but because they will look so bloody good that if we need to sell them, we get the best offer.

Dundee is one of, if not the most, popular destination for young people from Northern Ireland to go to for university. At 19/20 he'll be there at the same time as many of his country's peers which may also help him settle. He may stay away from the bars the rest will be in though.

Good loan in my opinion.

Much as folk will deride there are some decent clubs in the Scottish PL so he'll get some games which are a level above what he was playing at last year.

Dundee a bit further away than Stoke as well so it's a harder experience. Cant easily meet up with any of his academy pals to play Playstation at night or whatever.

Don't think it's comparable to the Worrall loan either. Loaning Worrall to Rangers was pointless as he was already establishing himself at Championship level at that point and didn't look out of place. Donnelly isn't there yet.

I thought there was a Forest connection at Dundee, with Gary Bowyer (son of Ian) having led them back to the SPL but apparently he was sacked on the same day that he had earlier been named championship manager of the season on.

Owen Beck has gone back to the scousers because of Robertson and Tsimikas being injured.

As a fellow young left sided defender on loan from a PL club, this will probably benefit Aaron.

They kept this quiet at the time but it's a measure of the lad's character that he decided to fight on.

Not to mention that they knew about it, knew he could have a heart attack at any time, and he played on before having the operation over the winter, just shows determination really.

I'm not sure this lad is going to be good enough to make it as a first team player here, and this task will be harder whilst we are in the PL (though he is a left sided defender where we've always struggled and he's still young) and he'll probably get loaned out with a view to being sold, but if he doesn't, it probably won't be down to determination.
