Re: An LTLF Tribute

Great idea. Just a quick thing, shouldn't the banner say 'As well as his love..' rather than 'as well of...'? Think it's a really great cause and shows how special this forum is!

Just done this. Congratulations to Hockley for setting this up. I think the family will appreciate this gesture.

Well done to everyone who has donated so far.

£622 in the space of a few hours is brilliant as you say Paul be good if it could break the £1k barrier by midnight (think it may be closer to 2k by then though!)

This is a great idea, I'll donate.

There is some tube on Talk Forest slating the idea, saying that we are all trying to 'out-do' each other's grief! Think they have missed the point... it's all about respect isn't it?

Yes it is about respect. Best just to ignore it. Everyone on here knows why we are doing it. It certainly isn't about point scoring. They are disrespectful for suggesting it!

Re: An LTLF Tribute

P'raps the thread title of 'An LTLF tribute' is the issue (not a criticism of Paul, he just mooted an idea with the thread), but this is an opportunity for any Forest fans - hell, any football fans or simply people who appreciated the non-football side of ND's life to make a contribution.

It's not about us and them - it's about us, Forest fans, human beings. Anyone who suggests anything otherwise is bloody heartless.

Re: An LTLF Tribute

If someone like Stuc spoke to vital and called it a forum tribute I bet a lot of them would donate maybe? Great idea by the way Paul.

To be honest i don't want to get involved in forum politics, if the other forums want to help promote it then they can - the justgiving page makes no reference to LTLF. Just because the idea came from a user on here does not make it an LTLF campaign. Anyone can post the justgiving link anywhere, if you feel it is relevant then please do so - if the site you post it on doesn't like it they will remove it.

I fully intended to place a Nigel Doughty related banner at the top of the forum today anyway, i would have done it yesterday but i think with the shock of the news i just wasn't sure what to say or do.

This is a great idea, i dont understand why any moron could be critical of it. Good to see some good coming out of something so tragic. I think he'd be happy with this.

Keep donating peoples....

You could donate to the nspcc on the forum then we could always get a collection going round on home matches if his family want any other donations going somewhere else if you know what I mean

Come on everyone, text OSXV98 to 70070 and donate what you can - even if it's a quid - to a fantastic cause that was dear to Big Nige's heart.
