He was great on the whole podcast, well worth a listen. Putting a few right that are doom and gloom including the host.
Ah mate, absolutely spot on! And so good when he drops in that's he's spoken to Martinez about Mangala etc... Brilliant podcast and every Forest fan should listen!

If it works for us on the pitch and in the results, then £40m would be a bargain as it may well give us a 2nd season in the Prem, with fresh opportunity to build on the squad we assemble this season. My concern (and this is the last time I will type this - promise!!) is that at 22 years old, with little by way of Premiership track record, and only 1 season in the championship, MGW may not have the ability to make that difference on the pitch just yet. I think he has the potential, but realising that potential when opposition teams already are stuffed with experienced, high quality, proven players may take more time than we have. Time will tell.
I don't disagree... But, and I'll steal Darren Fletcher for this one, there are bargains playing in Europe that would be cheaper. But, and a big problem, they can take time to adjust and gel. MGW would be ready to walk into the team because Cooper knows his game inside out. To buy a player that we know is ready and, more importantly, will change games and give us the quality to stay up will cost way more than £35m. If not in fee, then certainly in wages over the contract. Another important factor - putting on my tin hat - is, quite honestly, established players have more choice. More choice will result in most players opting not to join Forest.

We've seen this already, and notably today, with Moreno not wanting to leave Betis for Forest. Other players have 'snubbed' Forest for West Ham etc... Quite simply, we're a much higher risk. People might quote Lingard as an exception, but it's also not like for like. He's a one year contract and has no risk of championship football next season through his decision. The fact (I hope) that MGW wants to play for Cooper, for me, is worth the extra push and extra money... And as a lot of very level headed posters have mentioned, do we have a plan B? Cornet now gone... I'm not sure we do!

I'll call you out when I disagree with you Ray, so I'll call you out when I agree. Spot on!

The challenge is working out when to walk away. Or being able to spin sufficient plates so as to keep multiple pursuits in progress.

Ha ha, thanks mate. Fingers crossed this one works itself out. I think it will... But might take until the window slams shut!

I think it’s plain as day that we have agreed a deal with Wolves but they won’t let him go until they have a replacement.

Too many respectable pundits have confirmed the deal and it is unlikely that they are all wrong.

What we have to do is watch Wolves site and when they sign a new Midfielder expect to see MGW at the City Ground.

Too many respectable pundits being Nat Jackson and a cricket reporter? And neither of those 2 said it was done- just close.

I haven’t seen any reporter I trust say it’s close.

I still think it’s mental the prices quoted and it would IMO go against how we’ve been doing business so far.

It would also mean we would have a very expensive bench warmer in either MGW or Lingard.

We should be spending the big cash on someone to sit in midfield and actually win a tackle so we can think about attacking the other team.

Move on, it's a joke now. Rather pay 35m+ for a proven Premier league player even if he commands a higher salary. At least you are more likely to get a return on your investment this season.

We seem like a pre pubescent child who just doesn't want to accept no for an answer for something he wants.

This is the third bid that was rejected 3 days ago - just more details coming out I assume.

We need to pay closer to their asking price upfront which we knew anyway so nothing has changed since Friday, technically.
