Re: Brice Samba - „Magic Hands“

He was a class above the other 2 keepers out there today. No chance with the goal.

Couple of blokes sat on their arse with a sky remote disagree though mate, so they must know more than the actual professionals deciding it.....

I was thinking about it after the Watford game. If he lays out sparko after Gray kicks him in the head, does the ref stop the game before Watford score? Was he too keen for his own good? He clearly got a boot to the head as he had a stud mark and blood coming from it.

Illustrious company, in the unlikely event he wins it, he should pass it on to Worrall.

Sambas a good keeper, added a few extras to his game of late too with his coming for more crosses, but player of the month?

You can't blame any player for trying to carry on for their team. Just a shit ref. Should've stopped play straight away. Personally felt it was a foul anyway, before adding in the blow to the head. Steam in for the ball and get there late and catch the player is a foul anywhere on the pitch. Normally you touch a keeper and its a foul, unless its Forest of course. Someone somewherehas ran over a shed load of black cats because our luck is between shit and awful.

I'm not knocking Samba for getting up and trying to make the save. But if he would have milked it, layed out like a starfish, would the ref have blown up? I think he would of, which shows the farce in the situation.

Today's f*** up doesn't make him bad, but we need a genuine 2nd option for a promotion push. Despite his recent upturn, Samba's had too many bad games since Jan 2020.

consistent with last season. His form dipped last season even before the lockdown and his current form has been patchy of late. with our inability to score , this is the worse time to drop form in goal.

Promotion push?
Head wobble needed Alf...
We are not going to be challenging for promotion this season, next season and probably for many seasons to come.
We can't compete with the parachute payment clubs and are so far behind many other clubs who have been building for several seasons already.

I agree Cap, I just point out what's needed as I know EM will be expecting it.

It's really sad that Hughton's one of the best managers we've had n ages, who - despite being in a shite position - managed to attract 2 quality players, & 2 players good enough for their roles - yet he's probably gonna have the most restricted window in years

He's fine for us, no need to bring in a 2nd option to challenge him. He'd look better if Forest could control possession and not sit back and invite wave and wave of shots on goal.

A keeper will inevitably make a mistake at some point, for that not to be game changing the other 10 players on the pitch need to do their f***ing job and perhaps score? More than one is ideal, or just attack.

I think Chris will still do well in the transfer market in the Summer. So long as we manage to get shot of all the ones he doesn't want. He knows he a lot of people coaching in the Academies at other Clubs. Many of them will be alerting him to some of the good young lads that they want to get out on loan next season coz they know they will get good coaching and good worth ethic taught to them under him at Forest

Re: Brice Samba - „Magic Hands“

He does let in the odd soft shot, despite being a good shot stopper. His command of his area really was excellent today, but the goal goes down as error. Unfortunately, that's how it goes for keepers. No one is going to remember the slack defending, just the weak finish that made it past him.

He's still one of the few players in 'credit' this season. An absolutely 'must keep' for next season. I don't think we'll do any better.

Agreed mate. I fancy he's got more contacts and fingers on the pulse than we've had at the club in years, so here's hoping :)

Exactly how we got Garner. Hughton is a respected coach who has a track record of improving players so managers will trust them with the young players.

Very negative attitude. Sabri got us within a whisker of play offs. Yes it will be tough to compete but this season will hopefully allow hughton to push on next season, obviously needs a good preseason, some creative, inventive signings, quality loans and sum luck. The league is not exactly bursting with quality and his season - only Norwich this season who are ahead of the rest.

Unpopular opinion here, Brice has been dodgy since lockdown started, we either need pre lockdown Brice back or a new keeper if we want to be top 6 next season.

Re: Brice Samba - „Magic Hands“

Yeah, I think this is key. Keepers who don't make the occasional error are playing in the Premier League. And even then you see the odd one or two.

We could go for Henderson at Manure for £30m who is the 2nd coming but made a blunder to allow AC Milan to equalise.Or maybe De Gea for £75m who Henderson who is supposed to be replacing but makes 4/5 blunders a season. Then of course there is the guy liverpool paid £70m for who blundered twice against Man City. All keepers make mistakes. Samba's form did dip in lockdown due to the partly to the thigh strain he suffered against Wednesday and the late equaliser v Derby. He started the season a bit unconfident with crosses but this year he has regained that confidence. He is generally a very good shot stopper and is a great with his feet a critical requirement for modern keepers.ment these days.

Re: Brice Samba - „Magic Hands“

Samba's style is so languid he'll always get flak if it goes wrong. Got blocked off when he tried to come for a corner, handling a little loose when saving a couple of shots, but generally came out well for crosses today.

First half dived the right way for a shot which was mishit and went the other way but missed via the post. Second half was beaten by a shot which came back off the post and somehow failed to go in off him.

Finally failed to get his body behind a shot which swerved late, had the sun in his eyes but not good enough. Needs to put it behind him and concentrate for 90+ minutes.

Forest won't find a better keeper as a Championship club. Like everyone he'll make errors. And as goes for all goalkeepers his tend to result in goals against his team.

Yesterday he made an error that resulted in Forest going from seventeenth to seventeenth in division two. Was a good time to make it.
