basically he looked very promising in the beginning but later on he was kinda lost in translation. He made mistakes and tactically he was very poor. run like a headless chicken sometimes which was odd because he is fast, strong and gives you the feeling he'll eat the opponent.
He couldn't play in the level we wanted for a starter especially in european cup matches. Perhaps he could be ok as a backup and i didn't follow his steps after he left. He had also some problems with our manager at that time which affected him a lot.

Karteo is being very kind. Let's not mince our words, he was a joke.

Think he'll be alright as cheap backup to Yuri with Chema going. His time at Brighton is a bit more relevant to us than his time at Oly and Chris Houghton is no mug, he wouldn't have played him as often as he did if Bong wasn't up to it. He's also another with fairly recent promotion experience which could be valuable.

Physically he is big but looks awkward and from memory he does struggle reading and tracking runners.

Hopefully not required much in the run-in and ideally a deal till the end of the season but can see it being 18 months.

Notice that he had a problematic relationship with his manager at Oly. and didn’t play much at Brighton after Houghton left.
Could be a player who needs a good man manager to give of his best.

On the evidence so far I would trust Lamouchi to get a good performance from him.

Let's face it, he's not taking Yuri's spot barring injury or suspension so I'm not overly concerned if he's filling in.

Yuri is not fast and quite weak. Bong is tall, quite fast and strong.

It's just another option that allows us to change the squad based on who we face. In games against teams that sit back or don't have much physicality about them up front then you can play Yuri on the left pushed up on the overlap. In games against physical sides where a striker would pull out wide and play on Yuri's weanesses then you can slot Bong in, tell him not to get forward and just sit in, and have Lolley/Diakhaby/Ameobi wide left hugging the flank with no overlap.

It's a Chema replacement. Chema was basically 4th choice CB and 2nd choice LB. That's what Bong will be. And we'll be £1.5m better off for it.

Loan til end of season will be fine. He’s experienced back-up and should hit the ground running.

Not keen on a permanent though.

Shirley this is just incase Ribeiro gets injured or suspended with Chema going.
He probably won't even get a game if Ribeiro keeps performing, I would much rather us set a safety net than fall on our arse after the window slams shut.

Spoke with my mate who's a Brighton fan who says he's been a reliable servant other than injury. Reckons he's more than good enough for the Championship.

Three uses:

1) Additional depth in case of injury.
2) An option to play against tall physical lump it long sides.
3) An option to come off the bench to close out a game, ala Yates.

He'll play the same role that Chema did in being both backup CB and backup LB, but he's a smidgen taller than Chema I think (which means better option than him in pt 2 above) and he's coming in on a free as opposed to the £1.5m we'll get for Chema.

Another sensible, targeted acquisition by the club. It's marvelous. I love what we've turned into.

This bloke is absolute garbage !! Might as well pack in if he plays in the 1st team. Expect an under 23 dip in form if he plays there....lmao
