I'm Red Till Dead

There is disquiet from Wolves fans. But is there much allegation of corruption?

The only person in that article using it was the author who made the comparison with Everton.

They showed a picture of Wolves fans with their 'end VAR' posters. You can think VAR is ruinin the game without alleging corruption. The Wolves' supporters spokesperson says in the article they want to be the voice for 'all fans'. This suggests to me they don't feel persecuted as a club but that it's more widespread issue.

It's the constant ellison of corruption with things that might be wrong is my gripe.

Incompetent refs. The shit VAR experience. The complex and perverse spending rules. Etc. Etc. You can be against all of them without it being corruption.
I've emailed my niece. Her and her husband are Wolves season ticket holders and he writes some pieces for local press/the club magazine. Hopefully they will have a feel from the fan point of view. I'll see what she says.

Man City and Foden score their second goal from the most ridiculously soft freekick you’ll ever see.

First was a cracker of a diving header from De Bruyne.

Here's where VAR's implementation fails.

Phil Foden slipped over.
No foul committed.
Ref (Jarrod Gillet) gives free kick.
Foden scores direct from the free kick.

Why isn't VAR able to advise the ref that actually no it's not a free kick?

They can check for a "foul" 5-6 passes before a goal (wolves last night for example) and change the outcome but there's no mechanism for checking the incident one kick before a goal.

What a stupid stupid setup

Don't tell me Eva's fireworks after Wood equalised wasn't one of your highlights of last year.
Not sure about the fireworks but I've never witnessed an atmosphere like what happened for 5 minutes after that wood goal so we live in hope I suppose but our goal difference is the only thing Currently giving me hope of staying up so I just hope we don't get battered

And yet Brighton have a penalty shout turned down for an arm pull and kick on the back of the leg.

Doesn’t “meet the threshold” though.

It’s utter nonsense. They don’t know what they are doing.

The pull and kick is irrelevant, the threshold in this case is the league position.

that fourth goal by Man City sure looked like a dangerous lunge for the ball against teh keeper. A couple of inches the wrong way and he would have broken the keepers jaw

Obvs not dangerous play according to var
