I’m pretty sure he’s just doing what he’s told, that’s the way this club works. We’re essentially digging him out for not resigning..

He is supposed to be the f***ing Chairman. That role comes with responsibility.

Maybe the owner would have sent him out as a sacrificial lamb had he not seen people defending the decision because he got us in the Premier League and though he had enough support to basically ignore everyone else?

Pretty much. I doubt he has any real decision making power at this club.

Still have no time for him though because, as Wes said, even if he isn't making the decisions he's still going along with it whilst claiming to be a fan of the club.

Agreed, but he’s not really the problem is he.. He’s just another person who’s doing someone’s bidding.. We really are burying our heads in the sand if we’re blaming anyone other than Marinarkis..

Again. He's an Architect.
Well, so am I.

But then, I design network infrastructure that actually gets built, and works.

Unlike Tom.

Absolutely. The likes of Cartledge and Bell are employed to carry out the ownerships will at the end of the day. They are merely the monkey, not the organ grinder.

My thoughts are he’s taken this role with all the best intentions. He’s sat there now knowing that he’s f**ked up (because it’s not really a roll at all) and just waiting for the bullet but he can’t say too much as he wants a decent pay out..

I just wanna talk to this guy, one time maybe after a few pints. Just a simple conversation.

I remain furious about the way the club has handled this. It is appalling, amateurish, ridiculous. I accept the arguments about needing to increase revenue, needing to be at the same level as competing clubs. I am not linking that to how much player A or player B gets paid (every transfer window involves mistakes being made). I am grateful for the investment that has gone in to the club. However .....

We were told that stadium improvements were coming.
A new training ground (announcement about announcements).
We were told how important the fans are to #nffc.
We were promised that we were OK for PRS.
We were told of a master plan for the WFCG (a thing of beauty according to Danny Taylor).

I feel that it is BS. That's what gets me. I don't want to feel that way about Forest, but I bloody well do. I have kept it bottled up as I've been on merseyside nearly all week, but home now and it is bubbling out of me. I've got a lot to do today but I'm spending time on here bashing this out. We have been lied to time and time again.

This is probably not a very coherent post. I am extremely emotional.

Chairman Tom, prove to me that we have not been lied to. Just prove it, you know how to do that don't you? If you don't do that, it's either because you can't or because you won't.

I worked on a job with Tom's dad, when I was starting out. He was a decent bloke. He helped me, he was honest. I can't imagine that he is happy about this shambles. I feel sorry for him.

I do take the point that the Chairman and COO are likely to be doing what they are told. That doesn't really hold here though, it's been lie after lie after lie.

Every person who takes a salary has a point beyond which they will not go, and if they are any good they'll walk and then walk into another similar job. He is not walking is he? By his actions, or lack of them, Chairman Tom has alienated himself from the real Forest fans and things will never be the same for him again. I've had serious doubts since before Xmas, and this last week has confirmed my fears. Chairman Tom, it's a f**k up, you know it, so fall on your sword immediately (if not before).

I apologise for the rant. I am pissed of at the incompetence of the club hierarchy, at the collective dishonesty of the Board. I'm going to lie down in a darkened room for a while, then I'll get started on the gin.

Did anyone expect anything different? He deleted his twitter account the moment the news dropped, any chance of him 'facing the music' was never going to happen. The club know all they have to do is ignore the screaming for a few weeks and everything will continue as normal, sad but true
I expect the same approach when they announce that we are leaving The City Ground as well; they know full well that people will be angry but they'll simply just ignore it.

I think this reflects how most people feel and as others have alluded to the fact that we're still angry a number of days later having had time to reflect on it shows you just how bad this situation is that the club have created.

It almost makes me fall out of love with Forest and I have to remind myself that this isn't Forest persay, it's a few executives at the club that hopefully won't be there long.

Dad has just been round. Coffee (good proper coffee) and a natter helps. He was 'on tour' in the European glory days: being spat on in Cologne, harassed by the cops in Madrid, 'entertained' in a curious underground bar in Munich, eating like a king in Zurich, freezing in Romania, boozing in (east) Berlin, window gazing in Amsterdam, trudging across Sweden and, apparently, an under reported series of events in De Panne en route to/from Bruges. Any one remember that one? Anyway, he said this .....

from the days of the overcrowded Trent End, the wet terraces of the kop, the building of the "Executive Stand", the heated seats in the directors box, Main Stand 'banner men', the club treats its fans like shite and that's how it is now.

He has many tales to tell, and some that he won't tell, but he reckons that this is no different but the saddest thing of all is that he / we thought that it would be.

Mr Marinakis, please take note. You are employing con men. Get them sorted. You know what to do.

See you all at Goodison.

I’ve just bought a bottle of Bombay Sapphire, I’ve got some Schweppes Indian Tonic water in the fridge and the ice bucket is full.

If you’re in the neighbourhood, pop round, we can have a G&T and put the world to rights.

Or the Forest-shaped parts of it, anyway.
