Do we know what the Forest counter offer, or stated maximum was? I assume there was a number agreed at some point hence Randal's initial announcement.

I have no idea, but they obviously spend considerably less effort in negotiating player wages down than they are doing on this.

I’m actually of the opinion that we do have to cough up if we want good players to come here, whether people like it or not, but securing the ground has to come first. It’s also a lot less expensive apparently.

I bet if Jorge Mendes had a shitty clapped out stadium for sale they’d happily pay 3m a year for that

I’ve dealt with council planners many times and if this is an attempt to play hard ball with them… toms doing it wrong.
Yeah, it’s the council.

Just bung them a few used notes each.

Don't worry mate I will do especially for things like this if this is the answer to the problem I'd honestly much rather the team went down the problem will then soon disappear our ground is iconic if the answer is to leave it them I think I'll decide not to spend my money anymore on something that constantly takes the piss out of mine/our support absolute pricks I was really looking forward to Saturday now at the moment I barley feel like even going

The last I heard the gap between them was about £150k. So, my guess at that time, was that the club is OK at about £650k-£700k the council at £800k-£850k.

How much are we paying Harry Arter a week?

For f***'s sake.

As I've mentioned before, even the £1m per year is only expensive in the here and now. Over time, inflation will eat away at that cost.

I'm usually inclined to find realistic explanations for things that are happening, but I don't understand the club's reticence on this issue at all.

I don't like the fact that this is being more and more since Cartridge came in and there's a conflict of interest there. It could also be that Marinakis actually wants the freehold.

1m, a fifth of an Origi/Linguard etc per year.

How much did we waste on Shelvey?

We also need comparison with how much Championship clubs are paying, which also could be a reality.

I find it hard to believe that a man who's willing to spend 100s of millions without a second thought is squabbling over such a small amount, just doesn't make sense and there must be more to it.

If we have to leave The City Ground we riot
I will say it, here and now.
If we leave the city Ground for Toton I will divorce Forest.
After 62 years of being a devoted partner, I cannot believe the crass stupidity if the Toton move is seriously considered by the Club.
If it comes to pass, it will a worse treatment of the Club's fans than anything Scholar et al perpetrated.

Maybe. And maybe this strategy isn't Cartledge's doing at all but EM's based on how they do land deals with local authorities in Greece.

But if I wanted to buy the Freehold from the council, I'd be the one reaching out. And I'd make a compelling offer for both the 250-year lease and freehold. I'd put in a package of sweeteners on skills and construction jobs for locals, plus whatever other added-value stuff comes with the development.

I agree. Which is why it makes me suspicious about Cartlege's agenda when there's a clear conflict of interest, otherwise it goes back to your previous post about it being baffling why they don't just get the deal done.

This week we finally get the P & S Monkey off our back allowing us to focus on our last two league games.

A couple of days later we allow the WFCG lease to become the focus.
This on top of the season ticket hike.

Where is the business nous in the club?

What might be unfolding could be EM’s latest 5-year strategy devised before he bought the Club
This could be his hidden agenda.
It looks like the chump-change given to Nottingham’s homeless charity was the velvet glove.
And the velvet glove covers an iron fist.
We had better get used to this sort of stuff.
Either that or switch our support to Radcliffe Olympic or Alfreton Town.
Forest is being morphed into something you either love, or will come to hate.
In other news, Newcastle United’s owners are clearing desert settlements to make way for a new-economy city.
Clearance operatives, better known as the Saudi National Guard, have, like James Bond, been given a shoot to kill authority.
Awaa the Lads!
I bet not a single NUFC supporter sees the brutal irony of their Geordie past being sold to the murdering Saudis

it's not to me. And I'm not being blyth or obtuse here either.
Fair enough. The fact that we have a chairman in situ who would potentially stand to personally benefit significantly if the club could be persuaded move to an alternative ground. The contract for that would almost certainly go to Benoy.
