Someone said it best on another thread somewhere on here recently; VAR in English football is basically legalised match fixing. It's a tool used to help certain teams and protect "the brand".

Much like FFP, the purpose of VAR (in English football at least) has nothing to do with fairness or correcting errors. And to anyone who follows a non-Sky Sports Six team that has dealt with FFP and VAR it's starting to become very obvious.
Yep, I’d agree with that.

As I’m sure everyone is fed up with me mentioning by now, the Germans - and their amateur officials - seem to have made a better fist of VAR than the Premier League has.

Perhaps that is another contributing factor - along with fan-ownership through „50+1“ - that makes the Bundesliga so enjoyable to watch.

I mean, last weekend I genuinely enjoyed watching Bayer Leverkusen win the title for the first time in their 120-year history, even though they’ve had a couple of right ding-dong battles with the VfB this season (and we are off up there again, this weekend…)

As for Man City and their financial doping from whichever coalition of petrodollars is bankrolling them? Well I mean „Pep“ Guardiola is all well a good, but you could stick Mike Bassett in charge of that team and their budget and even he’d have them up the sharp end of the table.

It just isn’t the same.

This is the thing.

They can reel all out all their paid shills pundits to tell us how we're bang out of order and you can't question any of this but this is the chair of the Premier League letting his mask slip and calling us "a small club" in a bloody parliamentary hearing.

Yet somehow it's completely unfathomable that this smarmy **** who looks like he whacks £100's of cocaine up his nose every weekend might be financially incentisived to put in place things to help his favoured "big clubs."

Nah.

Leiecster 1-0 up, goal was slightly offside. Wonder if fans of whoever doesn't go up will use this against them for the next 2 years.

Confirms Leicester's promotion. I don't mind that, actually. Good for region to have a Premier league Derby game next season.

Annoying that the media will be full of praise for Leicester and completely gloss over the PSR breach, as usual. Funny if Leeds complete the bottle job of course.

Ipswich have 2 tough away games so I'm not sure Leeds are completely out of it unfortunately.

If Ipswich get a win from Hull or Coventry away, that's probably it. With Huddersfield at home on the final day.

But a draw and a loss from those away games for Ipswich, it'll be difficult because Leeds still have the goal difference advantage and have a home game on the final day too.
