Luton’s goose is cooked now. A lot of their attacking threat came from Doughty for half the season but he’s getting double-marked now and they haven’t got the guile to counteract the problem.

It’s between us and Burnley.

I don't necessarily disagree Ashley but you replied to my post which questioned why someone thought Luton would beat Fulham and nothing you've said there responds to that point

Fulham is winnable for them yes because it's a game of football, but nothing I see from Luton, especially in the last few months makes me think they will win

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they didn't pick up another point from here
I can't speak for other people, but for me its more a case of me feeling "after so long without a win they are bound to get one at some point" rather than anything Luton have shown, plus the final day of the season sometimes producing odd results.

But yes they have been poor, I don't think they'll get anything at West Ham so if we win tomorrow I think their game against Fulham will become irrelevant anyway.

With all due respect it isn’t opinion. It is in our hands. If we go down at this stage with games against the bottom 2 in the league with one of them relegated already it’s well earned
Completely agree with that and it has been in our hands for weeks if not months.
How we are here considering some of the better performances is beyond me.

Another showdown at Bramall Lane then, you couldn’t write it 😂
Failing that it’s Turf Moor, haha, that will be fun.

FFS Forest win tomorrow.

10am here…pissing it down outside…sick as a dog.

Time for some cold and flu tablets and to sleep through the day in anticipation of the game.

As long as we beat S.United and Burnley lose to Newcastle we’re halfway there, on 29 points.

If we win and lose the next two:

Burnley would need to beat both Spurs (A) and us, to finish on 30 points.

Luton would need a draw and a win v West Ham (A) and Fulham, to finish on 30 points.

1-2 points back (?):

Burnley are relegated, even if they win both remaining games, to finish on 30 points.

Luton need two wins, to finish on 32 points, a draw against West Ham next week sends them down.

Summary:

I think we’ll be safe by the time of our late KO v Chelsea.

Get your inflatables ready! 🥳🥳🥳

Luton have been masters of scrambling late goals all season. Not sure how many on here watched the game last night but I counted 3 last ditch blocks from Everton defenders in injury time that saved certain goals. One in particular being a bicycle kick that hit a defender in the face practically on the line.

I was really impressed with Everton's desire to keep the ball out. They were pumped. Good to see Woan and Stone doing their bit for the Reds.

Matchday and it's nervous norvus again (one for the oldies there). This is in my world a must win game as much for the feeling engendered as for the actual importance of three valuable points.

The points gained would put a bit of space between us and Luton and, more importantly, Burnley who are making a late surge.

This is going down to the wire; as a Forest fan you know it is because we don't do things the easy way. No wonder I'm grey after all these years of, mostly, existing on the edge.

Come on you Reds, let's be 'avin' you.

I agree that you make your own luck. Today has to be the day our luck changes, otherwise ….

I wish I could be as confident as a lot on here about today’s result. We haven’t put in many good away performances this season apart from Newcastle and maybe Palace. Add in the obvious tension and a team that will be doing everything possible to take us down. Forest prove me wrong and put in a performance 🙏

Almost safe now. A point back from the appeal or from one of the last two games should just about do it I reckon.

I've just realised if we get two points back, Burnley are relegated.
If we get a point back, they've got to overcome a 17 goal swing in two matches to stay up.

we'd never let a positive goal difference slip in the last game of the season would we :D

Burnley are pretty much f**ked now. Their goal difference is f***ing abysmal.

Hard to say with Luton. They really need to beat West Ham (which isn't beyond the realms of possibly given how inconsistent they are) and, should they lose, you'd hope our significantly better goal difference would take us over the line.

Though our players can't afford to think like that. We've got two games of our own to worry about.

Chelsea are similar to West Ham in the sense that they're either excellent or absolutely dreadful.
