Man United? They couldn’t win an arse-kicking contest against a one-legged man, so Vincent Kompany‘s lot might fancy their chances there!

They’ll probably be down by the time we troop out at Turf Moor-still a hard game though.
If they have a chance of surviving when we play them, I wouldn't bet against them.
If they are already down... they may play for pride/new contracts, or they may capitulate, ready for a beach holiday somewhere nice, like Accrington or Bolton :)

Its a strange one because pople are spending money, my business supports 2 major UK retailers and they are booming. You cant get onto most retail parks on a Sunday these days, jam packed with people spending.

There'll be an additional £10bn of credit card debt accrued this year from people buying stuff with money they don't have.

Marketing works.

It does, otherwise companies wouldn't spend billions on it every year.

I do find it strange though as I don't think I've ever succumbed to it: I'm fortunate to be on the wealthier of the scale but drive a 14 year old Yaris which has clocked up 100k miles and we live in a small but functional 3 bed semi. I'd simply much rather my money went into a big pot that allowed me to sack off work much sooner than I otherwise would, rather than buying items.

That quite scary really.

Yep.

A little secret from the view of Corporate UK: It's helpful for business if the workforce is racking up debt because people in debt tend to be more compliant in the workplace: Work longer hours, take more shit from bosses etc - all because the debt acts as an anchor on nonconformism.

Simply not true I got a mortgage fine yes you may be blacklisted for a bit but it goes granted not everyone wants to live there life like that but there is very little they can do I don't these days but my credit score is brilliant after a few years
Oh and I also walked away from my mortgage didn't pay it for 6 months pocketed the money then rented when the reposesion peocedings started because we needed a bigger house but was in negative equity and my credit still recovered.
I dont live like that these days but it's simply fear stopping people do these things but I've always loved a bit of chaos

I love that tale actually in that scene
But I also love the scene in same film with the joker in the hospital where he declares himself as an agent of chaos
I absolutely love Christopher Nolan‘s Batman trilogy (hell, I love absolutely everything Christopher Nolan has ever done) but The Dark Knight is quite frankly a masterpiece.

Heath Ledger was frankly brilliant as The Joker.

And it was a tragedy when he died, aged only 28.

I'll just suggest that audit trails of customers have improved and lending criteria strengthened since you did that.
