On the first occasion we played in Europe the tie was level after both legs. Forest players readied themselves for extra time only to be told they’d been knocked out on away goals.
Don't recall any more detail.

It wasn’t the first time we appeared in Europe,Robbo-it was the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup (the
forerunner to the UEFA Cup) 2nd Round against FC Zurich in 1967.
Forest won the 1st leg 2-1 in Nottingham but lost 1-0 in Switzerland. As you say,Forest were
lining up for extra time when the opposition were doing a lap of honour.
Classic Forest-at least EM couldn’t be blamed for it.

I think the game you're referring to was against FC Zurich, on the night we won 2-1 but I don't recall our scorers.

I remember going to the home leg which was midweek, so as I couldn't afford 2 games in a week I decided to miss the Saturday home game (v. Man United) and go for my first experience of European football. In the league we beat United 3-1 and set our attendance record that day.

Check out the National League table and the final round of fixtures this Saturday. The Boreham Wood game v Ebsfleetis a definite forerunner of our game v Burnley on the last day and is the stuff of nightmares. Boreham Wood at home and need to win to maybe send Ebsfleet down with Woking (Luton?) sandwiched between eeeeek!

a lot of hand wringing over 12.5 pound per game increase (to 45 pounds per). Club needs revenue.

I say this from across the pond and not having to pay it.

Our country is in its knees. £12 is a lot of money when millions are living paycheck to paycheck. Football might be the one and only money they pay out in terms of entertainment and enjoyment in life, and £12 per game increase might price them out.

Corporate UK has spent the last two years putting up prices massively under the cover of 'inflation' - people are just f**ked off and broken by it all in general. Forest aren't unique in an angry customer base but just like Tesco et al they think they've got a captive market who will pay whatever.

Its a strange one because pople are spending money, my business supports 2 major UK retailers and they are booming. You cant get onto most retail parks on a Sunday these days, jam packed with people spending.

On the other hand I have worked with food banks as well and as a family we regularly donate, my missus helped set them up for a local council in its infancy so its something close to her heart.

If you cant afford to eat then I imagine a ST or any other luxury is bottom of the list, some of the stories are heart breaking to be honest, especially where kids are involved.

I do wonder though how many people that attend games actually cant afford the increase, or are simply unhappy that they may have to sacrifice another luxury?

Its hard to tell, you seem to have a large amount of people throwing money around left right and centre and then others that struggle.

I fully expect a lecture on socialism from someone on this 😂

My wife used to work for a local authority visiting council tenants who didn't pay their rent. The vast majority claimed poverty despite having a financed Audi on the driveway, a massive flat screen TV playing Sky Sports, plenty of fags and booze, the whiff of a certain Amsterdam delicacy lingering in the air etc.

Different times, different priorities 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, unfortunately theres a massive proportion that do, which ruins it for those that actually struggle.

Theres cases of families working full time jobs and still struggling, but they are few and far between.

Exactly the reason I asked that question to be honest.

The best option is to remove the nonsense around memberships etc…to buy tickets.

All that will happen is people who can afford multiple season tickets will buy them and re-sell them.

Maybe have an allocated amount available each quarter. That way people can buy a block of tickets when they can afford it.

I haven’t been home to Nottingham (or the UK) in six years, and I have zero chance of getting a ticket…despite watching us home and away extensively during League One.

Appreciate mine is a unique circumstance!!

Nope, it ain‘t!

I am in the same boat; regular attendee since the late-70s, season ticket for 15 years up until I emigrated a bit over seven years ago, and now 850km away from the City Ground.

My opportunities to attend are of course limited, but I do visit the UK fairly frequently, but even with the „Plus“ membership, I have been unable to secure a ticket to a PL match when I have tried to do so (seven times, this current season) simply because they are all sold out.

It‘s fair enough, the demand is clearly there.

We all have to prioritise. I dont know how the season ticketing works at Forest but I would have hoped that there would be some sort of discount to recognise loyalty. The fans that supported you in the barren years should be the ones that you want to keep in the good ones. When the barren years return those fans will be less likely to drift away again. Equally however, if you want a good football team, playing at a nice ground with good facilities and catering then you're going to have to pay for it.

It's a crazy world - and people seem more entitled these days. I know there are many people that are really struggling these days, and I sympathise with them, but there are plenty that are not. And many of these people must have a decent phone, must subscribe to Netflix/Amazon, must have Sky, must vape, must eat out and buy fast food regularly, must have the latest gaming console, must have cool trainers etc. There are so many things to spend disposable income on these days that you just have to prioritise what you want the most.

My tip - non-league football. Ticket, a pie and a pint for < £17.50 and home in 10 minutes after the game. Arguably a better craic too.

I wonder what the cost of a seat will be next season for the non-season ticket holders?
I wonder if it will be lower if we are relegated.
If we are relegated will the casual seat price fall below the £21.74 per game my £500 season ticket for OAPs in Block R costs (£30 per game for full price Block R seats).

I was going to go over last April. The only option was £175+ VAT I think it was. I appreciate that’s the hospitality experience…but I think travelling half way round the world deserves something.

It would be amazing to have a small section (250) just for overseas fans. If they don’t sell they go on general sale.

It would make for a brilliant day hearing everyone’s story. A supporters version of the Chelsea pensioners! Would surely get great publicity as well.

Note* Proof of travel required!
