Came into this thread to post this but you beat me to it. :ROFLMAO:

Maybe we could bring back Daryl Murphy, dress him up as an Oompa Loompa and put him next to a drugs lab?
„Oompah-loompa, doodely-do,
I‘ve got another,
signing for you,
Ooompah-loompa, doodely-dee,
He‘s from Mainz 05,
And he‘s Niakhate!“

Apparently they are going to put the best posts from LTLF on the walls of the museum.
This museum isn‘t big enough for that.

Has anyone done the "Pfft. The club's just living in the past" joke yet?

I think the club should have this picture on display, blown-up to A0 size:

Does anyone know what the aims of the museum are?

As well as having the tangible stuff from the seventies onwards surely it must inform about the early days of the clubs - the founders, the early players like Sam Widdowson, Tinsley Lindley and the Forman brothers, particularly Frank's long association with the club. It should include mention of the club's long run of annual athletics meetings, the fact that the club was run by a committee for a period longer than anyother league club. It's fight against professionalism and subsequent acceptance as they fell back in the ranks of the teams of the day.
It should be mentioned that we haven't always been at the City Ground and in fact that the current City Ground is the second to bare the name as the Town Ground was renamed to the City Ground after the Nottingham was granted City status shortly before the council forced the move over the river. Personally I would love mention that the Town Ground was covered in crocus flowers in the spring as it must have been quite a sight.

Mention should be made of the fires that hit the City Ground. As well as 1968, there was another in 1900, at the Savage South Africa exhibition at the ground Limited fortunately to a single tent on the field, but in 1904 a fire at the Midlands Exhibition next to the ground caught fire and spread to the main stand practically destroying it. The location of the ground being beside the Trent gives the City Ground it's beautiful view as you come in from Trent Bridge, but has also given rise to several floodings through it's life time.

When I used to go over to Chicago I would go up the then Sear's Now Willis (I think) Tower. They would have a short show before you went up to the observation deck. Perhaps the club do something similar before people go into the Museum itself to give the background history of the club and set them up for the museum itself?

(Sorry I got a little carried away there. :) )

I think the club should give you your own decent sized exhibition room IRTD to put on a quarterly rolling display of our illustrious history. I would gladly lend a helping hand.

Will the East Stand bogs be part of the exhibit?

I'm still researching. :)

I think most people likely to go there would better appreciate Otis and Cloughie sitting there talking about their matchday experiences over the years.

I said much the same as this (though less eloquently and specifically) a page or two ago and I had you in mind when I wondered if they’d consulted any fans or the club historian, etc. I won’t judge it too harshly until I’ve seen it (which might not be any time soon at 25 quid to get in plus the petrol money or train fare for a 4-hour round trip…), but my suspicions are that it won’t be as comprehensive (and therefore as good) as it might have been with input from those who have known and loved the club for a long time.
