The Mood

Current mood amongst the fanbase: toxic.

The fact that there are people having a go at Forza Garibaldi now and having a pop at those who have been priced out of going next season beggars belief.

What an absolutely vile, nasty club Marinakis and his cronies are turning us into.
You can't blame the owner for having moronic fans.

What getting promoted? He probably shouldn't have bothered. I can't wait for getting taken over by Nottinghams version of Mad Mel.
A fluke promotion due to getting lucky with Murphy and Cooper, without whom we'd have been in League One right now.

The club was a shitshow before Dane Murphy and has reverted to being one afterwards.

Dane Murphy is the only difference between him and Fawaz.

Those are all definitive facts... o_O

I mean if you want to pretend everything was sunshine and rainbows before Dane and Steve's intervention and that everything is hunky dory at the club right now, go for it. (y)
No ones saying that, but the doom and gloom you perpetuate is ridiculous. We where 1 game away from the playoffs under Lamouchi, we then hired a sensible experienced Championship / Premiership manager who most thought would be a sensible pair of hands and turned out that he had lost his mind.

Wow, 1 game away from a 4/1 shot at potential promotion. Now that's where AMBITION gets you at it's best, 7th in the Championship.

Yeehaw.

We had struggled against relegation the previous year, had 1 point from 7 games (with performances that matched the results) and were in free fall. Plenty of teams in similar positions struggled to get out of such situations. It's not unrealistic at all to think that without Murphy's smart recruitment and bringing in a manager that fit the club as well as Cooper did (which in and of itself is a very rare thing) it is very likely that we would have been deep in a relegation battle that season, as we were the season prior.

Sorry but Marinakis is nothing like Fawaz.

I can't remember any of the following happening with EM in charge - A load of Kuwaiti players turning up for pre-season to be forced upon the squad all because his son thought they would "slay", never ending winding up orders, senior players being rolled out to lie and explain it is yet another Kuwaiti bank holiday and that is why no one has been paid, an FA Cup going missing, selling our best young talent behind Stuart Pearce's back, suggesting we buy balls from ASDA to save money, the chairman's own company on the front of the shirt, a managers corrupt cousin running all the finances, failed eye sight medicals, falling out with Adidas over not paying them for shirt manufacturing, sacking a manager after a 4-2 win on boxing day and then his family and entourage arguing with fans on twitter, and we sure have not seen him ever tweeting a fan "Okay Spiderman".

Fawaz was a clown. Please do not compare the two, I know this sounds harsh but it is borderline stupid to do so.

Marinakis bought the club when we finished 21st, since then we've finished 17th, 9th, 7th, 17th, 4th, Then 16th prem. It's hardly one been one filled with disaster. Hughton being the exception ended up being awful, but no on expected him to do such a poor job.

Why would Marinakis want Kuwait players? 😆

I think he's like Fawaz in many ways:
A fragile ego.
A "throw enough shit at the wall and hope something sticks" approach to recruitment throughout much if his tenure so far.
Undermining managers.
Breaching FFP.
Off the pitch dramas galore.
A bad reputation amongst other clubs.
Not as bad as Fawaz with his Kuwaiti players, but there are a few instances where we've done favours for Olympiacos and would we have signed Court Vlachula if not for his nationality?
The City Ground being left to rot.
Was looking like taking us into League One (or at least another relegation battle in the Championship) before Murphy's intervention.
Horrendous communication, reading of the room and general lack of respect for the fans.

To be fair, he doesn't make as much of a prat of himself on Twitter. But had it not been for Murphy, the result would have been the same.

The 4th place finish and promotion was largely down to Murphy and Cooper, and the 16th place finish had a lot to do with Cooper and Murphy's summer signings also.

Without them, its unlikely we'd have even troubled the top half of the Championship that season and relegation to League One would have been a very real possibility.

I hate what the owners and the Premier League have done to this club.

I hate that (aside from Ryan Yates) there's now not really anyone in the squad that we can relate to.

I hate that we got rid of the manager who was the right person for this club long term.

I hate that we've felt compelled to hike up the price of things like shirts from an already-expensive 40-off quid to 70-odd.

I hate that the ticket office and ticketing systems have been systematically worsened recently.

I hate that simple things like membership schemes and waiting lists have been monetised.

I hate that such schemes are now being weaponised.

I hate that the structuring of the away and home ticket allocations means that despite the club saying they don't want to create a closed-shop, the club created a closed-shop.

I hate that all previous loyalty has been erased.

I hate that despite paying more - much more - for my ticket this season, and being asked to pay obscenely more next season I have no say in the increased number of games that are moved, or when those games are moved to.

I hate that despite my extra money and TV's extra money, there's still insufficient water and towels in the bogs.

I hate that despite the club telling us that money is critical, the club hasn't competely overhauled the catering offerings in the ground to make it more likely to bring in revenue.

I hate that the club's email communications recently have evidently been handed over to a 16 year-old with severe ADHD, no ritalin, a crate of Fanta and an industrial quantity of Skittles.

I hate that the Owners are insisting we're a business and yet the entire customer-facing aspects of the NFFC Business are run in a way which can best be described as shambolic.

I hate that I'm now a customer.

I hate what this club has become recently.

Is this the point where someone points out that the players signed while Murphy was here were just as hit and miss as usual? Then someone else claims that all the good one's were Murphy's idea, while all the dodgy ones were foisted on him from above? Except Steve Cook of course who Murphy didn't want.

Cooper was the difference.
