It is no use speculating about the business we will be doing in the summer:
1 We don't know which Division we will be in;
2 We don't know which of our players will be targetted by the rich boys in the Premier League;
3 No one knows what goes on the the mind of older and younger Marinnakis, so even if we knew for certain the answers to 1 and 2 we will never know the answer to number 3.

I read Barca are out of the race for the Ruck kid and it's now between us and Palace. You'd hoe given our links we might actually be in with a chance... Obviously a long term project and wouldn't actually join us for three or four years but...
This summer I'd like a better mix of attacking depth and experience...
f*** it - Barkley in midfield? Archer and/or Brereton to fill out the front line, the kid from Oly and the older head that's supposedly one for us at CB. Ndaiye. A quality LB... I could go on!

Horrific run with injuries this season tho. I don’t mind carrying T’s hamstrings, not sure we can afford 2 players with similar problems

So along with Abbey at Oly, they also bought in David Carmo with an option to buy at 18m in the winter window, which is decidedly not Oly cash.
There was a report at the time suggesting the option might be taken up by us - he's a decent age and supposedly good in the air.
Another linked to Liverpool earlier in his career before falling out with his manager at Sporting. Perhaps he's one of two CBs heading to us via Oly?

Unpopular opinion probably, but (along with Brereton) another old boy I'd look at in he summer is Lascelles - goes into the final year of his contract, and, while probably not quite as good as Boly, would add similar experience and leadership while adding mobility. Wonder how much it would take...

You imagine a new manager would want to raise cash to put their own stamp on too - decent shout.
This is a very good shout. He’s largely looked excellent when I’ve seen him, although prone to the odd mistake. He seems to be getting less and less opportunities for some reason with Gomez preferred at left back. He’d be our unquestioned first choice and would be a significant upgrade on what we have if he wants to play regular football rather than sitting on the bench and collecting his wages.
It's a good shout, he has the attributes we play with, between him and awoniyi, we would have a striker that can hold up the ball and bring 3 attacking mids into play. Wood scored goals for us this season but the hold up play just isn't there
The question is how much would he cost?
