Not sure Bowler should be on that list? Has at least another year surely?Out of Contract end of the 23/24 season: 6
Hennessy
Felipe
Soh
Arter
Kouyate
Bowler
I don't think we would get anywhere near what people hope we would get for MGW.I'm not sure in what world people are thinking a team is going to drop £50m+ on a player in his first season of English football, playing in one of the worst defences in the league and actually quite short as a central defender. Same thing goes with Morgan, he's had an okay season but anyone actually scouting him will see that he can't finish consistently and he's shite at set-pieces. Maddison went for £40m last year and he's probably a better player than Morgan is or at the very least has more experience at a higher level.
Most of the teams in the league are at their spending caps and need to sell before they can buy AND if we go down, teams will know we're in a vulnerable position so they'll lowball the f*** out of us.
If MGW leave, and Nuno stays….Fabio CarvalhoSeen Lewis Ferguson's name mentioned a few times now - wonder if he's lined up if MGW leaves? Seems to have a lot of interest elsewhere mind.
Is he a Mendes client?Seen Lewis Ferguson's name mentioned a few times now - wonder if he's lined up if MGW leaves? Seems to have a lot of interest elsewhere mind.
He will be.Is he a Mendes client?
How's he doing at Hull these days? Thought I read it hadn't gone well somehow? Injured? If MGW leave, and Nuno stays….Fabio Carvalho
Good point.He will be.
Scored 5 in 13.How's he doing at Hull these days? Thought I read it hadn't gone well somehow? Injured?
(Great signing for them on paper though)
A very key factor in that was Leicester being relegated. You can’t demand the same and the player will not remotely want to stay.Maddison went for £40m last year and he's probably a better player than Morgan is or at the very least has more experience at a higher level.
To be fair we could well have actually been in 13th place last January when these projections were made. Not the case this year so we might have been more circumspect. Not sure but I think last year’s projections were based on us finishing 12th. So I don’t hold out too many hopes that a poor league position has been factored in this time around.
Hmm. He'll be on a huge salary and according to the scousers he was poor in their final season and it was the right time for him to "retire".I know the summer transfer window is the least of your concerns with all the relegation dogfight and ffp dramas (which loads of work do not allow me to watch in detail), but let me point out that Fabinho was in our stadium last night. He's a Mendes client and it was Nuno who convinced him to go to Al-Ittihad last summer. He will be 31 in autumn, he's not washed up yet.
I am sure that they will have learned a lesson from last season and this year factored in a more realistic finish for a team only in it's second season of Premier League football. Not sure but I think last year’s projections were based on us finishing 12th. Wouldn't say no to that - iirc he was the world's best CDM not too long ago, and his latter 'struggles' with Liverpool were more to do with a system change. Wages though...I know the summer transfer window is the least of your concerns with all the relegation dogfight and ffp dramas (which loads of work do not allow me to watch in detail), but let me point out that Fabinho was in our stadium last night. Players who return to real football after a brief money grabbing stint with the Saudis often take a huge wage cut. It all depends on the player's ambition.Wouldn't say no to that - iirc he was the world's best CDM not too long ago, and his latter 'struggles' with Liverpool were more to do with a system change. At 30 (or 31 then) you'd hope he still has that ambition to play at the top level a few more years.Players who return to real football after a brief money grabbing stint with the Saudis often take a huge wage cut. It all depends on the player's ambition.

ZzzDoesn't everything?
