Summer 24 Transfer Window

I'd be keeping an eye on Tyrone Mings personally.

Still recovering from an ACL injury and so it's a risk, but I suspect Villa will look to replace him properly in summer given Champions League football and not wanting to FAFO on a 31 year old who's been out for a long time.

If he can demonstrate an ability to keep fit then could be a reasonably cheap replacement for Murillo if we choose to cash in what with it being a left footed option. Would held in our quest not to be shit from set pieces and would also be a big leader presence in dressing room, something I personally feel we're missing.
That is a really good shout.

The ACL at his age terrifies me

But he's exactly the sort of profile of defender we need.

I want someone heading or kicking anything within a 15 foot radius and bollocking anyone that isn't doing the same.

mings out from aug 12 2023 to jun 12 2024. Yep, sounds like forest to be paying money for injured player that has been out more than a year that will take at least half a season more to be anywhere fit. His contract is till 2026.

He's back in light training and it's three months until new season starts.

Big risk yes but quality player and leader.

Last couple of days have also seem the Tammy Abraham back to the PL links surface. Back to fitness. Would assume every mid/lower PL team gets linked before the months out.

CB Union Berlin, @Strummer any view on him ?
The Dutchman is only 25, but a ferocious tackler; he’s something like fourth or fifth best in the Bundesliga this season in percentage-terms of tackles won, he’s fast, mobile and decent in the air, having scored a couple of goals too.

Good injury record as well, he’s been fairly ever-present for Union.

Was reading he could be on the moves this summer as they look to cash in before his contract is up in 2025. Thanks for the reply.

ST, LW, RW, CB, RB/LB.

5 signings is the max number of players I want to see this summer if we stay up and don't lose any starters.

Striker needs to be our starter as we can't rely on Awoniyi to stay fit and Wood is getting on. The two wingers are a priority as we only have CHO and Elanga in that position. The CB needs to be a younger version of Boly.

Perfect signing. Could play through the middle or shift to one wing if we want extra goals on the pitch when Taiwo is fit and firing.

Saw on twitter yesterday that Benfica chief scout will join us, so i guess we will look at the Portuguese market. Although i believe Benfica have bought well over the years.

Joining us as Chief Scout, presumably replacing Chris Brass.
We're still using Syrianos to identify other targets, but, if the Benfica scout brings his book of contacts, then we can have some fun :D

I’m personally hoping for a starter with Awonyi as the impact sub now.
I'd love an upgrade (which Abraham would be). But if we bring in another starter quality forward they need to be able to.play wide as well.

We can't afford.Taiwo, Wood and another 80-100k per week player to be competing for only one starting spot.

Either it's a player who can play wide, too, or we need to move on from one of Taiwo or Wood.
