Funnily enough, I was thinking back to the 1990s Premier League (prompted by a random YouTube video) and it was extremely hilarious to see footage of Gary „You can’t question the integrity of Referees“ Neville and his team-mates surrounding and haranguing some hapless official or another.

He should f*** back off to his Manc Fawlty Towers and leave comment on events to those who can be objective, instead of kowtowing to money.

Yeah excessive on field dissent is one thing you can’t really criticise our players for. To the extent that some of our own fans are critical of the lack of it.

Funny when you don't get a penalty for a handball cos "VAR can't tell whether it's inside the box or not" (clue: all of his body is in the box) and that doesn't even make the top 5.

It will fade away as soon as more games are played and there's new things to talk about.

Agreed-once the storm blows over the cartel will still be in place and Forest will be
forgotten and likely spend the next couple of decades outside the top flight.
I’m pleased Forest have pointed out the warped nature of the league but still think the original
tweet was unprofessional and the complaint should have been lodged in a more considered
and measured manner.
I think Forest are certainly at least partially responsible for their own downfall.

Something that should only take half an hour to receive. It will be interesting to see how quickly they get it.

This is increasingly how I feel and regardless of the outcome of this season I think I'll struggle to have any kind of energy for supporting Forest going forward

If being in an abusive relationship with a corrupt league is as good as it gets then what's even the point?
It's got to the stage where I don't even bother getting my hopes up when a Forest player gets fouled in the area. The ref isn't going to give it, VAR aren't going to give it (or even look at it) and we'll end up losing. As you say, what's the point?

I know performances haven't been great, but I honestly can't blame the players for losing faith. Anyone who's played Sunday league football as a kid will have experienced their fair share of refs who are clearly in favour of the other team and won't give your lot any decisions whatsoever. You can try all you want, when you're chasing the game and your striker gets taken out in the box for the third time only to get nothing, you can't help but lose hope.

To me posting an angry Tweet minutes after the final whistle implying bias from a referee came across as petulant and something you'd expect from an indignant teenager not a professional football club
Sometimes an outburst of pure emotion helps to bring matters into focus.

After the media frenzy of the last two days, they only intend for next week's show to include the audio of one of the decisions?

Why did Atwell not refuse his appointment on Sunday?

As well as his incompetence as a referee and VAR official, he showed his arrogance by not stepping aside.

After Forest raised this issue ahead of the game PGMOL should have talked to Atwell and switched him to another game. There were four PL games on Sunday - presumably four pairs of VAR officials at Bletchley Park. Not difficult to make a change.

I’ve still not gotten over the farcical sending-off of Willy Boly, for being fouled.

Then the shit with the scousers.

Now this weekends‘ bollocks.

On the odd occasion, you can almost - almost - excuse a bad day at the office for match officials, even though VAR is supposed to be there to help them out, but so so many times this season, Forest have been on the end of an atrocious officiating decision, and the VAR isn’t doing the right thing and stepping in.

And after so many incidents, and very little the other way - you know, how these things supposedly level themselves out - you can’t help thinking it cannot simply be coincidence.
That Boly sending off was the strangest thing I’ve seen on a football pitch for years, 30,000 people immediately knew it was totally f**ked up, except the ref and his VAR.

I can absolutely agree Forest haven’t been great lol but it’s like they’re playing at a permanent disadvantage, playing without the faith you’ll be treated with respect I think is very damaging. Forest haven’t been listened to which is why they’ve broke rank

Oh yeah, Man Utd were notorious for it. It worked too. There was some ridiculous stat back from the Fergie years that they didn't concede a penalty at Old Trafford for ten years - with only three being given against during that period.

So yes, Neville is a colossal hypocrite who isn't anywhere near as clever as he fancies himself. Just watch how easily Ian Hislop picked him apart on Have I Got News for You for confirmation of that.

Irrespective that our players are highly-paid professionals and should not lose focus in any circumstance, your second paragraph is hugely relevant.

I expect it will be the one on Reyna so they can deliver a lecture on player simulation and “changing the threshold of the force of contact over the course of the season”. All in response to carefully considered feedback of course.

Yes, that was an absolute farce.

And at the end of it all after VAR couldn't decide that it was a penalty it wasn't given to us at all.

Surely if it's hand ball and VAR can't decide if it's in the box or not then it's a free kick to Forest on the edge of the area (if outside) or a pen (if inside). Didn't they give a goal kick?

That is legitimately one of the worst decisions I've ever seen in football anywhere. Even when I was playing for my local U15s side as a kid and we'd be lumbered with the one of the opposing team's dad running the line, I didn't see anything quite that bad.

He won the ball cleanly - twice. He wasn't out of control, his leading foot was along the ground and then got fouled himself when the Bournemouth player arrived late and stood on him. On top of all this, the referee had an absolutely perfect, unobstructed view of everything that happened - and still sent Boly off.
I was at that game and could tell from the upper Trent End that it wasn't a red

People talk about VAR being shit but you didn't even need it for that, it was so obviously not even a foul!

You make a very long statement here but the fact remains that the on field referee did not award a penalty for any of those events. His decisions were taken as he saw them in real time. Are you saying he is corrupt also?
The real reason we are in a mess is that the squad is not good enough or not managed well enough. Oh and the small matter of 4 points that we could have so easily avoided.
The 4 points deduction (along with several sub-standard performances) have certainly been
a self imposed dagger blow but the refereeing hasn’t been great.
It should be pointed out that well before VAR was introduced it was a standing joke that
visiting teams to Anfield and Old Trafford rarely got any favours from referees-I just think
VAR and forensic TV analysis has highlighted that the ‘bigger teams’ seem to get more
favourable decisions at key moments.
