If you were Divock Origi you'd be banned.
If you were Divock Origi, you’d be in prison for impersonating a professional footballer.

Yeah I agree we could and should easily save the same amount of money (and more) from the wage bill than will be raised from price increases.

I was just a bit sceptical we can let both Felipe and Boly go without replacing either. That would leave us with just three centre backs I think? We will still need a squad! But yeah, better value for money would be nice.

Edit: there is Joe Worrall I suppose

Felipe and Boly are unavailable so often they’ve effectively left already. I’d like us to keep Worrall, especially as we’re probably back in the Champo next season.

I agree. Not really sure we'd make any substantial money in selling Worrall at this point anyway, and as much as I rate Felipe and Boly they aren't much good to us if they are barely fit enough to feature.

Yeah I’d be ok with that even in the Premier League as long as we keep Murillo.

Happy to let both Boly and Felipe go (Felipe’s retiring anyway of course), it was just the ‘not replacing them’ bit I was questioning. We’ll need at least one other centre back than Murillo, Omo and Niakhate.

Agree

I think it’s the profligacy combined with the prices rises that’s pissing everyone off. It’s impossible to argue that we ‘need’ to pay more so that we can afford extortionate dross like Origi and Lingard.

If prices were going up but the club appeared to spend sensibly I think there would be much less of an issue.
This is what irks me, we've wasted more on Origis wages than we will claim back through higher SC prices..

Lingard at least did something even if it was expensive cheerleader 😂

We may aswell have kept Dennis as even if Dennis scored 1 league goal he's better than Origis output.
Dennis actually did contribute more last season than Origi did this season. And at least Dennis is actually our player (for better or worse).

I'm still seething about Origi's miss against Wolves. Absolutely useless.

I agree, his goal against Newcastle last year was brilliant.

Getting rid of him for Origi was ridiculous. I don't mind a gamble on an experienced player IF they don't cost too much, but he is a collosal waste of funds.

Apparently us fans should just worry about what’s happening on the pitch and not about the way the club is being run! Issue being is that for the owners were just another thing to own but for us this is one of if not the main thread in our whole life, it’s very hard to suddenly not give a shit. And if we could just not give a shit then we’d likely not bother going anymore because quite frankly it’s not that much fun and the football is pretty shit..

Exactly, I've been obsessed with Forest for over 21 years (I wasn't that bothered until my Season ticket in 02/03). Since then I've spent 2 decades on this forum chatting shit and discussing/debating this about this club, travelled god knows how many thousands of miles supporting us and 10s of thousands of £s on football...

But we should just not care..

We should have worked with Dennis this season. He did quite well in a few games last season. Way better than what we’ve ended up with.

Dennis biggest flaw was his insistence of cutting back onto his stronger foot, not too dissimilar to CHO who although better is frustratingly predictable.
Would I rather have the options of Cho, Elanga, Reyna and Dennis that Origi 100% yes.

I’d rather have Surridge than Origi too. If we’d kept him and Dennis we wouldn’t have needed Origi and we wouldn’t have needed that embarrassing chase for Akpom.

The same goes for players as goes for supporters and even shirt sponsors - be very careful about ditching people who’ve been crucial to your success. Too much change disillusions people and you often don’t end up with better anyway.

Look at Wood. Roundly considered to be a useless lump and with a bit of time and ultimately patience from everyone involved, he's great

Dennis might not have the personality of Wood but as clubs and fans we need to persist a little more with those we invest money in.

Origi was free, remember? Sure, the punt hasn't worked out, but that doesn't mean it wasn't worth a punt back in the Summer.

Though that rings a bit hollow when we've probably paid more in Salary for him than the season ticket hike will earn. Doesn't feel very free if the cost is fan alienation at the crucial point of the season.

If we hadn’t signed Origi we would have signed someone else, and whats more most of the fans would have demanded it.

The someone else might have scored some goals of course.

I didn't mind the Origi punt. Hindsight a wonderful thing.

In terms of recent transfers then the Jonjo Shelvey one sticks out like a sore thumb. Just his personality in the dressing room was a major risk to team cohesion and togetherness even if the quality was there, which itself was a risk given how little he'd played.
