Season Cards 2024/2025

It's the age categories that is the hardest one to accept and the lack of communication with the fan groups, if you were going to increase by this much, give fans a bit of warning. A media appearance wouldn't make it any easier, I guess I want to see someone from the club explain the decision and not just hide behind statements and immature tweets.
What were these Tweets everyone but me seems to know about?

Wow.

Just.....wow.

That's absolutely disgraceful.
Heads need to roll at the highest levels.
errr... that'll be EM and his cohort.
When I was Finance director for a quarrying company, we all had specialist training in handling disaster scenarios.
One of the abiding lessons was: do not shun the media.
They can be good friends, or deadly enemies.
So, Forest board:
1 Organise a media interview;
2 Start the interview with an apology (something like, The Board would like to express sincere regret at the way the news surrounding season ticket prices has been handled. Here and now we would like to address the concerns that are being expressed by the supporters";
3 Explain the pricing strategy;
4 Say "We recognise that we failed to communicate with the Fans Forum we have been working with";
5 The financial reality facing the club in the light of the FFP breach and punishment is that the club has to address all aspects of its revenue and cost base;
6 Say, we as a Board have listened to the criticisms of the price increases, and note in particular the significant and potentially punitive increases resulting from the reduction of age related concessions particularly on the young peole whom we hope will be forest fans now and into the future, and the burden this places on young families;
7 As a result we have decided to restore the age related concession back to 19 years, as it was previously.
8 Repeat the APOLOGY from 2 above.

It is quite simple... and will defuse an explosive situation.

If a protest is wanted then rather than boycott a song, why not just boycott the whole (City) game?

It's on TV and we'll probably get smashed anyway, and as far as a statement goes then an empty ground in front of the money (TV cameras / sponsors (foreign & domestic) / corporate / etc) would go down like a lead balloon and make the powers that be sit up and take note.

Obviously that's never gonna happen, but if we're serious about protest then where's our ambition?
That would require ACTUAL action though, like organizing something.

Its far easier to just talk about it on a football forum.

Catering is still outsourced isn't it so not buying rat burgers isn't going to hit Forests pocket.

It will. These deals are normally franchise fee plus %sales.

Maybe so, but if you stop using it they wont want to come back as there is no money in it for them.
Sounds like a win-win, that😆

Not sure if this has been done already but the statement about player spend ratio is winding me up.

I know it all helps but most effective approach is don't spend so much on players!

we can release and not replace

Kouyate
Boly
Felipe
Arter
2 out of the 4 keepers we have

Assuming they average 50k a week each all in that's about 15m a year.

The marginal income from pissing off our entire fan base and threatening to ruin all that's been great about going to forest for the last 2 years. About £2m.

Agree

I think it’s the profligacy combined with the prices rises that’s pissing everyone off. It’s impossible to argue that we ‘need’ to pay more so that we can afford extortionate dross like Origi and Lingard.

If prices were going up but the club appeared to spend sensibly I think there would be much less of an issue.

I mean, kind of, yeah. But most teams at any pro level have more than 2 goalkeepers and 3 central defenders on the books. Which seems to be what you’re suggesting here.

You’re right about Arter and Kouyate of course and expect it to happen in June.

Sorry muddled it a little with the keepers who arent out of contract. Just saying that if we do nothing else and let those costs melt away we will have more in the bank over the next 12 months than the paltry 2m extra we'll have from season tickets.

If a few years ago you'd offered me the choice of paying twice as much to watch Morgan Gibbs-White instead of Lyle Taylor, I'd have taken it. But if I was unemployed, maybe not.
If I was unemployed I wouldn't be paying to watch Lyle Taylor.

Yeah I agree we could and should easily save the same amount of money (and more) from the wage bill than will be raised from price increases.

I was just a bit sceptical we can let both Felipe and Boly go without replacing either. That would leave us with just three centre backs I think? We will still need a squad! But yeah, better value for money would be nice.

Edit: there is Joe Worrall I suppose

It’s starting…… just read on twitter that some people in D block have had emails about having to move due to the club expanding the hospitality seats.

This is everything I hate about modern football and precisely why the atmospheres at some of the new big grounds are rubbish.
It just one fukc you after another.
