Season Cards 2024/2025

We're British; we don't do protesting. We just have a bit of a grumble, then bend over and a apathetically take like obedient little plebs.

Say what you like about the French, but at least they have the will to stand up for themselves when they feel like they are being shat on.
They do stand up for themselves do the Frogs.

Do we have a French anti Mara fan on here? Minerals needed in such dark times.

I remember the good old Megson days when Kilburn Red would strip his beds for the sheets to scrawl on and Wootton had a Toast Protest. 🤣

They were simpler times. :(

3 days of this now, and usually, after a day to reflect I can rationalise and move on. The fact that I have't yet stopped being so angry and disappointed with the club is damning for me.

It's tearing me apart in all honesty (yes, that sounds dramatic). I bloody love match days. I love going, it's a massive part of my life. Has been for as long as I can remember. I've not always been in the fortunate position of being able to afford the season card, especially when the kids were little, but even then we'd go to as many games as we could. Nothing finer than taking your kids to their first match at The City Ground. That hairs standing up on the back of your neck moment and quiver in your voice while trying to sing MOK you never forget.

I love this club

But at this moment in time, that love is very one way and it's breaking me to feel the way I feel. It's killing me to contemplate not renewing. It's not the money for me. I'm in a fortunate position that many others aren't. Yes, I'm angry at the increase as it's not proportionate or justifiable but what really hurts is the manner this has been done. The threats of the waiting list. The trying to deflect with safe standing (that will be a balls up anyway). The "record renewals already" bollocks. The radio silence despite massive reaction amongst the fanbase and the media.

I feel I need to make a stand and at least let the club know how they've made me feel. Which is why, while still raw and angry I suggested the boycotting of MOK. A part of the matchday ritual I love. I come home hoarse every game and don't care, but I felt, and still do, that this would be noticed. Will it make a difference - probably not. At this point, I don't think the management or owners care at all about "legacy fans" as we seem to be labelled currently. The same legacy fans that left money in the club during COVID when they were begging for our help. The same legacy fans who were here in the bad times and kept it going. The same legacy fans who have been getting The City Ground universal praise for the atmosphere and togetherness we create and enjoy.

A stand has to be a united stand. A few not singing will not be noticed. Forza not bringing a display (I agree with them on this) isn't every game so may go without any notice. A protest in the car park - won't do anything, (this actually reminds of Father Ted and the protest outside the cinema but I digress) and won't bring the media attention a silent ground would.

Would it affect the players? Possibly. In honesty though, how many would actually care? It's there job. A better offer comes along and they'd be off anyway. Do we really think the likes of Origi and co would give a shit? We're the constant and we're the ones being asked to foot the bill while taking a massive kick in the balls from a management team that don't care about us. We've all spent £££££'s over the years on the club we love, and I'm sure there's many of us don't begrudge a penny of it - we do it because we care about the club we invest our time, energy and emotions in to but there are many with that emotional investment that are now being forced away. It's heartbreaking

I never thought my suggestion would bring so much discussion. It was posted at a time when it was raw and I was angry. I stand by it though. Everyone is entitled to their opinion either way, and respect to all, whichever way you feel about it.

I hope whatever happens, protests or not, the club take on board the hurt and anger they've caused and at least address it. To those who's response is "if you don't want to pay it, I will", well, that's your decision. But please have some thoughts about why people are angry about all this.

One last thought from me, and a personal one. My old Mum went in for surgery today to have a mass removed from her breast. When I was talking to her before, she said to me "don't give up your football, you love it too much, do what makes you happy, lifes too short to worry about money". God bless her

Sorry for the long post. Peace and Love

There's a guy in our row who has 2 daughters.........ones 12 the others 17. The 17 year old one has seen her season ticket rise from £190 to £700.....the change to under 17 from under 19 for youth tickets is harsh. I have an OAP ticket & pay £500.........I've got a decent pension I can afford the increase......... but the aforementioned 17 year old girl who is about to go to uni has no income & relies on the generosity of her dad. Seems very unfair.

Oh I don’t know; French labour laws are much stricter - and more in favour of the worker - than ours in the UK, and I think that can largely be attributed to the fact that, in previous times, the French got to work lopping off bourgeois heads whilst we were rolling around having our bellies tickled by the man, and even these days those boys over the channel know how to protest!

I love Forza and everything they do and I really hope some form of protest happens and is successful; one fundamental problem with their protest is that different people want different things. Should all prices be lowered? Should the age categories be restored? Should membership costs be reviewed?

As a member, I think some (not all) season card holders have failed to understand that home membership fans have probably been paying about £800 a year for Forest games. Membership fans are being labelled as tourists by some, when the majority will have been going to Forest for years, but have never got a season card. This could be because of work or family commitments or that they can only commit to a certain number of games, it doesn’t mean they’ve not been pumping money into the club on a yearly basis at quite a hefty ‘pay as you go’ basis.

There will be some fans who’ve jumped on the PL bandwagon, but chances are they will be on the lowest membership level and will be waiting a few years for a season card - then we’ll see if they want to commit.

The point is that for every current season card holder who can’t afford the price, there’s a membership fan who has been paying extortionate amounts waiting to snap one up, because in their eyes, its cheap. The club know this and have taken full advantage of it in an appalling manner. Hate to see people tearing into each other on social media and it might be extreme to say, but I feel that the club deserves to go down.

I agree with this quite a lot; I’ve been surprised by how much disagreement there’s been on here and other social media platforms (notably Twitter), but then people do have different circumstances I suppose. The arguments have often been pretty angry and personal though from both sides. Whilst the internet does tend to exacerbate things a bit I’ll be interested to gauge the mood between fans at the ground next weekend, and it would seem that, at this crucial time in the season, we’re anything but united just now.

The club have played the classic divide and conquer tactic perfectly here, and it’s sickening. They won’t be quite so pleased with themselves if it does negatively impact what unfolds on the pitch and we go down though.

Wait till next season when you're paying even more money, I'm going to assume a nice 20% increase in membership, plus tickets at a minimum £50 each to around £75.

Season tickets will always be cheaper and 90% of seasons most non season ticket holders would spend far less to watch us play. It's only now because we are Premier league that some fans are spending extortionate amounts to watch us play.

The annoying thing for me about the whole membership Vs SC holder is that allot of members are rejoicing in the fact that we are paying more because they have this year. I don't want any fan to ripped off including membership holders. I'll feel sorry for the ones who understand the annoyance when the new prices are released next season, and laugh at the ones laughing now "If you can afford it don't go".

I am looking forward to the prawn sandwiches and the craft beer, served in the correct glass, and at the correct temperature by happy smiling customer focussed staff on the spotlessly clean, light and airy concourses, and then being able to go for a half-time micturation in toilets that smell of spring freshness, have hot water and an ample supply of paper towels.
I expect to be welcomed by a happy smiling customer focussed steward who will lead me to my correct seat, flipping it down and wiping any moisture or debris from the seat before I sully my red courduroy trousers.
As a customer, I'm worth it!

As an OAP, the cost of my seat in D-Block has increased from £470 to £650. Like you, I'm in the fortunate position of being able to afford it, but I'd feel less averse towards having to meet that rise if I knew that the extra £180 I'm paying would contribute towards retaining a discounted season-card price for a young fan such as one of my grandsons or the young lady you refer to.

Exactly - season cards and memberships both need to be reasonably priced. The fact that the club haven't announced membership prices at the same time as season card prices is annoying. When member prices are announced, we'll have the privilege of knowing what division the club is in, which I can understand would be frustrating for season card holders, who are having to take an expensive gamble now. It's disgusting management from the club.

IF we go down it will be interesting to see what happens with memberships, who in their right mind pays £100 to guarantee a seat at Forest Vs Plymouth and then pay £45...

Same with away membership tbf, you would only need it for Derby away...

Well when memberships were first introduced, I only needed it for Derby at home, in the promotion season it became valuable and then in the PL, it has been worth it to get a priority period. You’re right though, a 3 tier membership system of Pro, Plus and My Forest for Championship football would be bizarre!!
