I don't know who he's with Alf, but what makes you think that Murphy would want to leave his present club to return here?
More just a turn of phrase mate. I just want the club to return to what we were under his tenure. Who brings us that I'm not bothered about, but this whole FFP/PSR + PGMOL stuff has left a bad taste in the mouth with me. I'm fed up with it, and feel we'd have been far better off getting our own house in order.

You make a fair point. It's regrettable that we've been caught up in all of this but I'm happy with us standing up for ourselves rather than submissively accepting it.

Maybe employing someone as controversial as Clattenburg was inadvisable, but I agree with the idea of the role.

By warning Clattenburg about his future conduct, despite the fact he has no official capacity in relation to Football these days are they essentially just firing shots at anybody, be it press, clubs, commentators and putting themselves beyond criticism.

Regardless of what you may think of Clattenburg the pgmol stink to high heaven

I wonder if any employee of a club could be warned?

Come find me, you bunch of incompetent f*** sticks.

Or turn up with their arm stretched out at an unusual but 'normal' angle and walk straight up to those conducting the hearing and kick them, passing the comment 'minimal contact', go to their seats, barge past and kick someone again whilst apologising 'sorry, just mutual engagement' my old chap.
Or just turn up barking and claim they are identifying as dogs

I like that the charges start with the idea that we might have implied bias or questioned integrity and, if they can't get those to stick, the chuck in the catchall, bringing the game into diisrepute.

Bit like the old military bit "conduct prejudicial to good order and discipline". If we can't get you on the facts, we can make up some sort of stuff about being a naughty boy.

This from the statement:
"It has also led to the unmerited targeting of me, personally, by certain participants and pundits. "
If true, and we have no reason not to believe it, is what should be talked about. However, as usual, the media have ignored it and opted to run with the "Forest are a shambles," "fancy trying something different" and "told you so".

Sauce salad?
I haven't felt this down since Collymore left.

(As with the appointment itself, part of me wonders if this is all part of a bigger play, with the media targeting card played so we can use it in another context. Smoke and mirrors...)

Completely agree....

But....

.....is anyone surprised?

Did people really think they were anything other than a bunch of self-serving shits, who are in it purely for themselves?

This is why the club need to "play the game". We're not a Man U or a Liverpool, the odds will always be stacked against us whereas those clubs will always have it in their favour, tis just how it is.

Clough....who similar governing bodies deemed not good enough for the England job, coz...again...bias...... overcame that through genius, defiance, focus, teamwork, and and getting the club in order. That's what Marinakis should be focusing on, and what will give us our best chance to overcome them again, defiance alone isn't enough though. They can bend everything their way, but if we're good enough we will still have the last laugh.

Taking them head on with no real allies or strategy and crying about every bad decision is not the way to do that. We need to "play the game", stay up, regroup, let some other club take the heat, and come at them again better prepared, more savvy and in much better shape.

Makes it sound like the club was charged because it employed Clattenberg. Probably not far off the mark really.

Has anyone got a gif of Clatz doing the crab shuffle over to Cartledge?

That has to be preserved for posterity.

The appointment if Clattenburg was an odd one but I understood it as the club were basically sending a message to the PGMOL. As in, you're f***ing us and we're onto you.

But there's no doubt in my mind that things got worse when he came in. It seemed like the PGMOL closed ranks and decided we were getting absolutely nothing.

One thing it has done, as well as our behaviour post-Everton rightly or wrongly, it has really brought the PGMOL and VAR under some seriously intense scrutiny and hopefully will lead to more reform. Hopefully we'll see more of the lower PL clubs publicly holding the authorities to account in future.

Nobody comes out of this smelling of roses, but I think Forest have the least to reproach themselves about.

The media (including the pundits) chose to ignore the whole list of grievances and focussed on the Everton game, which was onlly the catalyst for our annoyance at those multiple decisions.

The PGMOL, as expected, simply mouthed weasel words and flannelled around the point.

The FA also simply went straight for the jugular, completely missing the obvious, that we had a point. The fears we expressed were justified; if no bias or curruption was evident, it was always possible because of very poor decisions by all officials. Better to avoid the problem than tough it out then find you're in a blind alley. Now, by charging the participants from our club, they prolong the problem and let it fester until it's aired again when the findings become known, which will obviously be a finding of guilty for all.

But the Establishment will always go for the jugular whenever non-establishment threatens the status quo.
Reason goes out of the window when the establishment finds itself under threat.
