When it felt inevitable Cooper was going to be sacked, Glasner was the one who I was genuinely intrigued/excited about of all the names that were linked. He will do very well at Palace.
He'll do the same as everyone else at Palace if they have to sell their best players.

He's had a poor first season, but has some mitigating circumstances with FFP, the PGMOL and AFCON.

I don't care either way to be honest, but I'd probably keep him just for continuity and the hope that a pre-season can do him the world of good. That continuity is especially important with the £30m weight around our neck in Sangare. He has to be our starting midfielder next season to meet his supposed talent as FFP is no joke.

Nuno's set piece defending is a joke though.

I think it's a good thing that the owner is ambitious & wants top 10 / top 6 / European football / trophies

Much rather that than being satisfied with plodding along in the championship

Obviously this needs to be tempered with a bit of realism with regards to timescales
There must be a way we can just switch squads with Olympiakos who seem to be pretty good.

I bet their wage bill isn't anywhere near ours either.

Very Jack Dee. I'd like him to add that little sneer at the end that Jack does just to really show his contempt.
I think it's there, but hidden by the beard.

Also Nuno has the same amount of goals conceded but has got a lot more goals from the team. Yes the keeper is shite but Cooper played in a way to maximise his shitness as well. Cooper didnt help him out at all by playing a low block so much.
I disagree with you about Sels, but even if I didn't Emmo, he never played under Steve.

I do wonder how many more points we would have had under Cooper, if the goalkeeping errors had been reduced earlier in the season, by having a solid Sels, instead of the errors we saw from Tuner and the Count - and in turn if that would have given Cooper the confidence to play more progressively.
I guess we'll never know.

I think the division, overall, has become much stronger. Outside of the European aspect, there are really eight strong complete sides in this division. Yes, even United and Chelsea. The top eight all have plenty of quality. There isn't a single league in Europe that is so competitive. The top three are another level but the next five are all quite strong. This makes the week to week struggle that much more pronounced. I don't think Brentford are a weak side and yet they sit in 16th.

Nuno should be given the reins next season and carefully add the right pieces. A number of players got better under him and that is the true measure, for me. I think we need a dash of continuity going into next season and Nuno is part of that, as well as a lesser focus on bringing in so many new players. Furthermore, our hopes of rising up the table rest partially on how Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham etc get picked over by the bigger clubs. Solanke, Toney, Pahlinha, Adingra etc---these will be big holes to fill if they get filched. None of teh sides outside of teh top eight possess lots of quality depth and they, like us, need to add the right pieces.

But next season I think it is important that we pull ourselves out of the bottom five or so and into a lower mid table position, at a minimum.

Evangelos_Marinakis:
Fire the manager and sign a whole squad of new players, you say? Got it.

It's all about mid-table...

I suppose that would be a sensible plan.

We don't do sensible. Marryknackers wants Forest to win the World Cup this week, anif we don't eez off to Currys to smash the place up from top to bottom.
