Or like the goal kick they got last weekend where VAR decided Grealish's handball wasn't intentional but ref didn't give a corner.
Ah but VAR is unable to intervene and award a corner in those circumstances, or a freekick if a handball is seen to be outside the box, and it would be literally insane to tweak the guidelines so that it can midway through a season.

Unlike say changing what is and isn’t a penalty several times over the course of a season which makes perfect sense.

Guardiola could send out an entire team of reserves, and Forest would still be pointless. 😢☹️😢

Isn‘t the current „Score“ 115-1 in favour of Manchester City?

At this stage I'm less worried about the potential scoreline than how many decisions go against us.

"My word! Foden just shoots wide with Sels beaten. That was close. Goal kick to Manchester City."
Stuart Attwell would - and indeed HAS - given a goal for this in the past.

Attwell has been a f***ing disaster and a shambolic referee since the very start when he was fast-tracked by the FA. They didn't want to lose face so despite a litany of f***-ups and controversy -mysteriously- following him round, he still gets to pretend to be a competent referee at the highest level.

It reflects appallingly on the FA and PGMOL.

I remember the game vividly.
We've always had to sell our best players to survive.
We always will, too

Strangely I don't. I was guested a season ticket seat in the Main Stand. I remember McKenzies'electric dribble down the right of the pitch (to the Trent End?) and his two goals, and Francis Lees' hair....

It was down the right towards the Bridgford End. It‘s sometimes embellished to say he ran rings round the defenders, up through the Main Stand and around the car park then back onto the pitch to set Bomber up. IIRC McKenzie set three up and scored one and it was Bowyer who scored two against his former club. I remember he did a forward roll in celebration of one of them - years before Keane did it at Norwich.

"My word! Foden just shot Sels between the eyes. The referee only deems it worthy of a yellow card."

We're getting battered here.

But it would be the most Nottingham Forest thing the world has ever seen to dial up the best performance for two years and go and win this before reverting to type for the final three games of the season and going down anyway.

A win here wouldn't be too surprising really. Haaland is probably out and City are as beatable as some of the other wins we have got.

Not likely though.

Also, shouldn't this thread be Nottingham Forest vs Man City & PGMOL & VAR

That's right! McKenzie set Bowyer up. And Lee getting exasperated and his behaviour stayed with me somehow. City huffing and puffing to no effect...
The whole experience must have been sensory overload for me though. Can't remember much at all :(. I distinctly recalled being surprised at the greenest of the pitch, and was struck by the vastness of the crowd from the relative sanctuary of my seat.
Must have been the Main Stand though....

Well, time for a surprise result like '74. Forest didn't have an earthly then, so history can definitely repeat itself here.
1-1 would be acceptable.

Yes, I was also struck by the size of the crowd. I remember remarking how closely packed the fans were on the Bridgford End as we walked down Pavilion Road to the Main Stand - a lot different with 41,000 in compared with the usual 13,000 or so we were getting in the league. That was back in the days when the FA Cup meant something and wasn’t just an inconvenience for the wealthy clubs (until the semi-final, when they suddenly pretend it’s important).

Tempted to play a diamond for this one and be as compact as possible. Elangas pace is essential for any counter attacks.

2-1 Forest, Marinakis leads the pitch invasion.
