Remember, we spent more than half a season without a shirt sponsor because we turned down 7.5mil from BOXT out of greed - but sure punish the fans
I can tell you, it was not 7,5m, but it was several million quid.

And Forest insisted that was undervaluing it.

He'll make some of his money back if he eventually sells the club. No-one is ever happy about price rises, especially against a background of general incompetence. I just don't think characterising EM as a greedy, robbing bastard is very helpful or accurate. At the moment.
Ultimately the buck stops with him, but the fact that a so called Forest fan was heavily involved with this and still okayed it speaks volumes.

In every interview those behind the club seem to do, they always make a conscious effort to talk about how much money the owner has put into their football club. Congratulations, you invest in your business, it's not a philanthropic gesture. He's spent at this point what, 200? 250? If he sold Forest, in the Premierleague, he'd get the vast majority of that back surely?

Over the last season especially, the club seems to have done everything that it possibly can to f*** all all the goodwill it bought with the promotion season. In our first season back in 23 years, we did not have a front of shirt sponsor in the PREMIERLEAGUE because EM felt no one would pay enough then, puts UNHCR as the sponsor for the last half of the year which to be fair, was a nice gesture but a shite business decision.

We finally get a sponsor this season and it's Kaiyun Sports, they don't even have a website and at a time where teams are actively swerving betting sponsors, we sign a two year deal with one? Hello?

We increase the ticket prices, the season tickets and add more membership tiers at higher prices. Okay, that's unfortunate but I get it cost of living and all that. They scrap some of the concessions, to go along with the price hike, which makes going to games for people in certain situations financially very difficult.

We breach Profit and Sustainability rules, even though we were told that we would operate within the rules. I don't care what PSR is for or what the Prem wants or whatever, they are the rules, we knew them and we broke them so we look like we're cheats to the football community.

Fast forward to the last couple weeks, not only do we start monetising a season card waiting list, we follow that by releasing season cards at significantly inflated prices. The implication being, well buddy, if you don't commit to paying these prices and renewing your seat, there are thousands of people that will.

There is no loyalty discount for example, for people that have used their card for all the games or have had the season cards for x amount of seasons. There is less concessions for people in different stages of life.

If the club is in a position where it can sell out all or almost all it's tickets, which it will in the Premierleague, it becomes more lucrative for the club to have ticket buyers with memberships buy those seats than season card holders. Season Card Holders will pay up front and will get tickets for like £30 a game but if you are a pro membership holder like myself, even using the current ticket prices, you pay £5 per game for the membership and at least £34 for the match ticket.
  • If there were 26k home season ticket holders on a matchday, spending £30 a game, that's £780,000 a game and £14.8m a year and would be guaranteed.
  • If there were 26k home membership holders on a matchday, spending at minimum £39 a game, that's £1,014,000 a game and £19.2m a year.
Obviously that isn't the proportion of who buys tickets but you can see which is more profitable.
The club only really benefits more from having more season card holders if, they cannot sell the other tickets. That would be the case more if we went down to the Championship.

Which is another consideration, because these prices are not going to go down if we do. They are going to be spread over 23 games instead, which for the £570 ST would be £24.78 a game. In the Championship, that would be a good matchday price but when you factor in the normal ticket price needs to give the season card holders a beneficial margin, that would mean you would probably be spending AT MINIMUM, probably about £32 pound on a match day ticket in the Championship, which is a joke when the drop in quality is what it is.

Some of that is guess work, but point still stands, yes we're still one of the cheaper clubs but the price of going to see live football in general, is f***ing extortionate.

It's really, really short sighted by the club because the expectation for next season is going to increase now and it's quite possible, given our financial situation, we'll struggle again. We got by last season with good will because it was a new thing and we were in the situation we were but we've seen it this season, the frustration. People paying even more are going to expect more.

Well I’m glad you’ve got that rant off your chest, and I don’t disagree with much of it.

Playing devil’s advocate though i’d just make a couple of points:

The season cards will still sell out.

EM wants fans to demand more, right? Isn’t that one of his things, not accepting mediocrity?

PS: I don’t have a season ticket, so should probably stay out of any further discussion. I’ll save my righteous anger for when the matchday tickets go up to £60 a pop.

The fans might want to demand that EM runs the club’s finances properly-given that the
FFP fiasco is in serious danger of relegating us.

What do people expect? We are in The big league . If we are to keep pace, we need to maximise our income, P&S rule make that so. Many of those who fail to see justification for these price rises will be the same who won't even entertain the idea that we may have to look to relocate to even sustain where we are now. Without that, we should accept that the gap in revenue lost from a bigger, more commercially viable stadium needs to be funded elsewhere.

No problem for people who can afford it is there? The club should be for the community not the elite.

I don't know if people behind the scenes at the club don't know how irritated the fans are by the whole debacle or if they just don't give a shit, but it doesn't really do much for the whole coming together as a club, does it? Spectacularly bad. :ROFLMAO:

Like, everyone is supposed to be pulling together to see Forest succeed and the underlying thought right now is, it's going to be really expensive seeing Forest next season ain't it?

For me, I'd have done this, depending on the records available.
  • 10% increase on all tickets, across the board.
  • The return of the 18-23 concession for 18-23 that is a little more manageable for people of that age between a child's season ticket and an adults.
  • The return of the 75+ concession.
We've just made a big deal out of a woman who is 100 that is a Forest fan, but in the same breath, there are still people over that age that come to the City Ground and have have for 60-70 years, showing them a bit of loyalty wouldn't go a miss.
  • Loyalty Bonus for Season Card Holders and Members.
    - If you've used your season card over x amount of times this year, a token reduction in your renewal price.
    - If you've used your membership over x amount of times this year, a token reduction in your renewal price.
    - If you've bought a season card multiple years in a row (as far bad as their records will go), you would receive a token reduction in your renewal price. The longer you have had a card or membership, the higher the reduction.
We all know the prices have to go up in line with the cost of everything else, but you also have to value those that have been with the club along the journey. Even if the reduction only amounts to say £15-£30, it's a gesture and it softens the blow.

Not going to bother trying for Sheffield United tickets tomorrow. Two tickets, travel along with food and drink will be a hundred quid saving I can put towards season tickets.

The absolute shame of this (amongst other things) is that it is a flagrant attempt to weaponise one part of our fanbase (members and those who signed up for the waiting list without knowing how ghastly SC prices would be) against another (SC holders they want to manipulate into renewing).

In all my years as a Forest fan this is the most disgusting, disgraceful piece of PR I have ever seen them spew out (and there's plenty of competition). Absolutely shameless; the opposite of pulling together and the kind of action that could divide the fanbase and the club wide enough to get us relegated.

And back this morning to the shit show that is the fortnightly scramble for away tickets.

Shit show indeed.

The queue appears to be broken. Available to join before the start time as per, but now my ETA on the site is 10:30, having initially been 10:07, and then 10:15.

Well, once again I got in the queue (on a few different devices) at about 9.30 and once again no away tickets for me. The £100 I spent on away memberships for me and the lad has turned out to be the biggest waste of money I can think of. The only away matches I've managed to get all season are the one's that went on sale to ST holders anyway.

Terrible today. Got in the queue and it said 34 minutes. Then went upto an hour. Then more than an hour. Then down to 20 minutes. Then 9 minutes and then finally a countdown of 4 minutes. By the time I got in at 10:15 there was nothing left.

I'm not sure if I'm bothering next season. I've spent over a grand this season and we haven't won one when I've got a ticket. 😄
