That's how I remember it, sitting down in my student house in Leicester to watch it, unaware that it had been called off, watching the pictures of Tony Francis and Jimmy Greaves announcing it had been called off from an even soggier than usual Baseball Ground.

I actually travelled from Leicester that day-I remember a lot of water on the road as I
left Derby.

They screened the rearranged game at the city ground in front of the trent end

Two of those defeats were those God awful trips to Oxford and Portsmouth. Hated going to those grounds and I guess the players agreed!

Even worse the third was at Meadow Lane - it’s still celebrated as Charlie Palmer Day.
