SPURS TRIP REARRANGED

By NFFC

Nottingham Forest’s Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur has been rearranged due to travel strikes and disruption.
Our trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will now take place on Sunday 7 April (kick-off 6:00pm BST).
The Premier League apologises unreservedly to supporters of both Clubs, and all those affected, for the inconvenience and disruption caused by this late fixture change. The change has been made due to matters beyond the League’s control, namely the decision to implement rail and tube strikes on Monday 8 April and the subsequent reduction in available travel services. This has resulted in the local authority’s Safety Advisory Group determining that it is not possible to stage the match with the required levels of safety for attending fans.
The match remains selected for live UK broadcast on Sky Sports.

Better than it being on a Monday with strikes and the risk of people not being able to get there or back.

Two weeks notice lol

So Sunday, when Network Rail do track maintenance and buses run a Sunday service is somehow a good day for travelling.
Why can’t the game be a 3 p.m. Saturday fixture?
Both teams play on the Tuesday.
So why not rearrange to Saturday?
Getting back home from London at 20:30 on a Sunday is a f***ing joke.

No reason whatsoever apart from Sky wanting to show it.
Spurs are playing on the previous Tuesday, as do we, so no constraints from other fixtures. The rail strikes were announced last week, I think, so what took them so long to reschedule?

No reason whatsoever apart from Sky wanting to show it.

I presume it takes a while to reach a decision because many parties have to agree.

For example, Police will look at other big events taking place in London, staffing rosters.

International broadcasters will need to be spoken to - it's not just Sky in the UK.

Worth remembering too that each club gets paid extra , every time they're featured on TV. So it's highly unlikely when Forest is desperate for commercial revenue that they would propose a 3pm Saturday kick off and relinquish the TV revenue.

I was going to this.

It now clashes with my wife’s birthday party with just over a week’s notice.

Tube strikes were a pain but manageable. I’m now not going. Cheers Premier League, much love to you.
