I “reckon” we’ll know after the blunts game

Win that game and they'll give us nothing back. Lose it and they'll give us a point back. Making it up as they go along.

The night I first met my wife Yellow Submarine was playing and a very early video playing on a TV screen along with it. Apart from my soon-to-be-wife that was the only thing I remember from that night. So Yellow Submarine has a special place, I actually don't like it! Though Mrs VP lasted 45 years.
Ah, brilliantly re modified by Forest fans about a ‘flat in Hyson Green’ !

Other way round for me. We could end this weekend four points clear of Luton, five of Burnley, with two games to go.

The last thing the PL will want to do is resolve the relegation battle with their announcement. It'll be a terrible look.

Yeah those were my thoughts too; if we were to get two or more points back then a win in Sheffield, coupled with a loss for Luton and no more than a draw for Burnley would effectively see us safe (barring a big swing in goal difference). If that were the case I think they'd announce it today at the latest (certainly not tomorrow on the same day when Luton play) so that everyone knows what's at stake during this weekend's round of fixtures. If the results were to go that way and they announced it afterwards, effectively ending the relegation battle, there would be uproar from Luton, Burnley and probably most neutrals too.

The decision will have a major impact on three clubs. I think it is too close now to this weekends fixtures, especially Luton. They would either be on a major high or low.
I don’t expect it till Monday now. The later they leave it though the bigger the hole they are digging for themselves.

Although as we're seeing creating 'uproar' doesn't seem to do us much good.
Indeed - although they'd be quite right to feel aggrieved (they'd deserve to know beforehand how high the stakes are in their respective games this weekend if we were to be getting any more than one point back), any noise they might make about it wouldn't really achieve anything except to show up the PL for what it is (which many people already know anyway).

Presumably if they have already made a final decision then it would have been announced?

I don't buy any of the conspiracy theories that they're delaying it to maximise TV interest in the relegation battle.

Reminds me of the way banks and governments delay catastrophic news to give the important people time to get their money out.

Yeah I do take your point. Although having the Luton Everton game on Friday will also change the landscape of what we need to do on Saturday. This is just the way it goes though these days I suppose, even in the Championship.

This will be delayed and delayed so companies such as Sky can still showcase a relegation race.
A point I clearly struggled to make earlier Tom.

I genuinely wish I shared your confidence in that not being the case PZ.

For starters, only Luton v Everton and Forest v Chelsea are on TV. The other five games for Forest, Luton and Burnley aren't.

It doesn't make any sense that the League would force an independent commission to delay making an appeal decision to boost viewings for two televised games, across a season with hundreds of games on TV.

If it is 2 points back they could potentially be delaying it so there isnt another set of fans on Sky Friday night with the “Premier League is corrupt” agenda

They're on TV if you don't live in the UK which is a bigger audience than just the UK.

Obviously it's also on TV in the UK though if you know how

These clowns don't half make themselves look corrupt even If it's not true what possible reason is there to delay its helping no one makes zero sense

What, so the conspiracy not only includes Sky, but also other TV networks from around the world?

I think the much simpler explanation is that the PL and panel aren't very good at their jobs.

Their making sure their nicknames are correct in the statement, they realised the backlash that caused aftet releasing the recording. Apparently Richard doesn't like to be called Masterbator any more after the abuse he's had from the fans last few weeks.

Good results for Luton/Burnley and bad result for Forest this weekend = 2 points back

Good result for Forest and bad results for Luton/Burnley this weekend = 0 points back
What happens if it's good (or bad) results for all three? ..What then, say you?

No conspiracy, PZ.
Sky and the PL are an entertainment model in an industry where drama and tension makes for more interest and, ultimately, more revenue. Be that from viewing figures creating advertising income, or social media views creating advertising income. The longer the uncertainty remains - title race or relegation spots - the more the interest remains.
