I liked the guy. I think he did a good job and was disappointed when he was fired 🤷🏻‍♂️. But in time I have managed to pick up the pieces of my life and move on from it 😆.
If you're winning football matches (no easy feat) fans like ours will love you forever.

I love Cooper.

Murphy I think had done his remit and therefore reached his limit (quicker than anyone expected him to).

With Marinakis, if you buy the club you can run it how you want - doesn't matter what you or I think, he's put his money where his mouth is and can do as he pleases. Am I always happy with his choices? No, but boo hoo.

It doesn't really matter that the club means more to me/us than him: Money talks.

I dunno, apologies the thread has been derailed with Dane Murphy discussion - but one last point on this.

Lot’s of people saying how much better run the club was when he was here, but presumably he was just adhering to budgetary constraints placed on him by those above? Under which, like I say, he did a good job.

And a final, final point, honest. Who was it that put the £20m in promotion bonuses in players contracts? Are these not normally set at the start of the season? I don’t know the answer to this, just wondering.

People can protest whenever they like, in fact if the moment after our Premier League status was secured fans actively congregated outside the City Ground en masse to protest I think that would actually have more impact than people not singing Mull of Kintyre before kick-off
That's true, though I can't be arsed to drive down from here unless I'm coming anyway.

(I jest, but the ones who are most likely to want to complain are all in one place at one time for two games, so you'd understand my point. And to be clear I'm neither advocating this or not - it's up to folk to make their own choices)

Its only Alf stirring the pot, he posts hot ginger birds though so we all play along.

There’s a few people on here who are beginning to sound very much like Newcastle fans and I’d suggest they think about how ridiculous they sound, especially if the outside world starts listening.

And maybe change the thread title back to what it was so it doesn’t include the word ‘protest’.

Every post until today bar the first one was sensible. Today; mixed bag.

I don't want Marinakis to sell up, I want him to finally learn his lesson. To be patient and understand that we're in a league with some geniune super clubs but also teams that have been stalwarts of this division and are in every facet of their operations, a Premierleague club. There are lots of ways that it still feels two seasons on, we're still a Championship club in.

I'll hold my hands up, I thought we would have kicked on and been comfortably mid-table after surviving last season but the panic buying in January 2023 and the poor recruitment this summer killed that progression dead. I don't know what shape we'll be in for this summer but I cannot imagine there will be many, if any, top tier signings for the Premierleague.

If we go down, then we'll fire sale the big assets and have some money to spend on some good players for the Championship but think next season if we stay up could be a consolidation season and Marinakis has to be prepared for that.

Those that want a billionaire to reflect on his choices, decide he was wrong and/or value his customer base more might be waiting a while... Doesn't seem in keeping with billionaire status.

(Not that that should deter anyone from expressing their displeasure.)

I’d prefer Jim Willmer and the early 70s committee.
Really Cloughie? You surprise me because Willmer didn't want Brian Clough rocking the boat and as such was strongly against his appointment. Thankfully, Stuart Dryden and Fred Reacher held sway over the rest of the committee. As for the committee ownership model, it lasted way longer than it probably should because of Cloughie's influence over it.

My last post on this, and probably not really relevant...

I sometimes wonder what the forums would have been like in some of Cloughies days: chairman against manager, players being bought in against the managers wishes (anyone classed as a Fenton signing, whether they were or weren't), mega money spent on great/awful strikers, stubbornness in bringing in Bannister, exitting manager choosing the next manager... I could go on...

I think we've always been terribly ran, just sometimes we've had a good manager, and on one occasion a true genius.

(I also think football has had the soul ripped out of it by money years ago, and our recent news only really fits with that. It's been shit for over thirty years, it's just we spent lots of time away from the shittest bit in that time.)

Imagine the meltdown after the Rosario signing 😂😂😂

When was the first Forest message board?

Vaguely remember the fury on the official message board after we sold Prutton in 2003

I haven't been arsed to read all these new posts, so if someone could let me know which one of you is going to tell the billionaire where he's going wrong then I'll chip in for the popcorn.
