If it wasn't for the appointment of Dane Murphy (who then appointment Steve Cooper, who performed a miracle) we would be a midtable League One side right now.

We aren't a Premier League club because of being well run or because of some grand masterplan of the owners, we are a Premier League club because we got very lucky with Murphy and Cooper. Either side of Murphy's time of the club has been a shambles, and if we go down I think it's quite likely we'll be in a similar position to the likes of Stoke and Huddersfield in a few years time.

Their approach to transfers (signing ridiculous amounts of players every summer, some of whom barely or never play for the club), breaching FFP (after years of lying about being compliant), the ludicrous never ending off the pitch dramas, the stadium development debacle, facilities and catering in the ground being sub-League Two standard (and having been to quite a few League Two games when Forest aren't playing in recent years I am genuinely not exaggerating here) and now antagonising the fans who have followed the club through thick and thin... these are all very basic things that the ownership gets wrong and isn't normal at any other club.

Let's not let a fluke promotion paper over the cracks, we are a very badly run football club and I fully expect things to unravel very quickly should we go down.

Lots of interesting stuff there but also lots of supposition and, while its an opinion, it's not fact. Nobody will ever be able to say for certain what caused our success (and troubles) of recent years and just because certain events transpired doesn't necessarily mean they were THE factor - correlation doesn't always mean causation.

We're run worse than some clubs but better than others. We've certainly progressed more in recent years than the vast majority. Hopefully we can survive this season and improve in all ways from now on.

I think the way the club was run before Dane and after tells it's own story personally. We are run similarly now as we were before Murphy, just with a bigger budget. With the way we have been run under most of Marinakis tenure I don't think we'd have ever gotten promoted without Murphy and the wrong replacement for Hughton that year would have made staying up very unlikely.

I get the anger at the price hike but I also don't think it's horrendous I'm a top tier membership actually I have 3 because I buy my sons and my dads tickets hence also the memberships it my problem because I let my season ticket go 6ish years ago because I went racing bikes alot and couldn't of made every match but wasn't a problem as just went to the ones I could obviously steve Cooper came in and we got promoted so did the demand i have missed 3 home matches this season now after missing wolves last weekend now same as racing bike I never add up costs or it would become f***ing scary but I bet the cost of all the games I've been to and the £100 membership is well above the season ticket price.
Maybe the jump was slightly too much but one thing for sure it was never going to go down in price just like nothing else is unfortunately it's supply and demand and the demand is currently huge

I totally appreciate how disillusioned, disappointed and disgusted supporters are feeling in the aftermath of the season ticket price changes on top of our points deduction, poor management, poor performances and poor results.

I even understand the need for fans to take a stand and express how they feel by way of a protest against the club.

What’s important is how and when. Now is not the time.

I fear any kind of protest right now will harm us, the fanbase, most of all. We’re fighting for survival. We need the best support we can give.

I agree with the sentiment but the timing is wrong.

Don’t do it for the club…..get the message right and do it for the fans.

If we stay in the Prem for next season the reward for the fans will probably be another 25% bike in season ticket prices.
However, I am right behind you and agree now is not the time to protest.

Personally Di, I really don't care.
The club would not have been promoted without the vocal support of a hard-core fan- base.
The club would not have survived in the Premier league last season without the vocal support of a hard-core fan- base.
The club have demonstrated that they don't need nor care about those who provide the vocal support of a hard-core fan- base.
Let's see how it goes without without the vocal support of a hard-core fan- base.

A bit of fan connection and common sense would be a nice start Otis. I don't think that's much, but our current regime aren't displaying that.

Hiking prices for staying up? Fair enough.

Doing that then sacking a manager who fans have a connection to, but who also never once had the club in the relegation zone? Bad move, but acceptable if we get better. We didn't.

But then hiking prices up even further despite going against the wishes of the majority for a season, with no improvement in sight? Whist breeching FFP/PSR in the process and pushing us towards a good possibility of Championship football? That's just bad.

And to then try and weaponize fans via Tweets is downright awful.

I think the only way we can get a good balance with these owners is to speak their language, and by that I mean kicking a stink up to the point they actually listen.
All of which might, indeed does warrant the fanbase demanding the owner sort his shit out and leave the running of the club to people who know what they are doing with his input being to support them and keep them in line with fans wishes but 'Sort your shit out' does not warrant a 'we don't want you, get lost'.

Marinakis deserves a whole load of criticism, but we could have worse.

In any case, can't criticise him. He got us promoted don't you know?

I think if there is any kind of protest done this season it should be after a game, hopefully one we've just won.

I'm not against protesting at the price hike (and the manner of them), though to be clear I wouldn't go anywhere near a protest against the owner himself: We could do better, we could do worse.

Luton are loving all this.
I agree.

Luton and Everton will be relishing the way fans are seemingly turning against the club and threatening to withdraw their support at this critical stage.

Deny our support now and we give our opposition the advantage.

I want us to to stay in the Premier League so I will provide my unconditional support regardless of off-the-field-antics.

I've a genuine question for you Ash. Given your clear anger towards EM and his stewardship of NFFC, and given that history and experience indicates he's unlikely to change his methods, would you be happier if he decided to put the club up for sale?
