You’re the one calling the owner to go, because . You’re having hissy fit that “the club isn’t being tun properly”. Every other owner we’ve had over previous years have been worse by a metric shit tonne, in almost every department. It’s an absurd opinion, due to the position of the club finds itself in, relegated or not, compared to its previous state that the clubs been in the last 25 years.

No one knows the exact structure of the club, before and after the magical Dane Murphy departed (the guy did a great job from the looks of it) but stateing that our success is solely down to him is such a simplification of numerous variables. It was stated at the time that Cooper had fell out with him. If that’s true, who should Marinakis had backed?

Where you calling for Doughty to go when he chopped up Paul hearts playoff team? When he didn’t back Kinnear? When we got relegated to League 1 for 3 years? When he didn’t back Davies being in a position of strength In 2nd? When he didn’t back him after the playoff defeat? When he sacked Davies and replaced him with McLaren? Then didn’t back McLaren with the promised funds? When the club was on the verge of administration?
The only hissy fits on this thread are people getting upset that people aren't happy with EM. It's possible to disagree and be mature about it, but time and time again people are getting personal and throwing insults at people just for expressing dissatisfaction at the current regime.

Personally I don't think signing a boat load of players every summer, chopping and changing managers and constantly changing the recruitment team resembles anything resembling a coherent strategy. Nor do I think it's sustainable (which has kind of been proven with our FFP breach and the strong possibility of us breaching again in the summer).

As for the Doughty years, I wasn't a member of this forum back then but I was extremely critical of his reign also.

Right then Ladies and Gentlemen and possibly others….. I have read most of the views on here and there are some valid points but the bottom line is that we want Forest to succeed on and off the pitch and we have five cup finals where the team want to backed fully by all of us. I remember playing Stockport County away on a Tuesday night in the rain with a young John Terry playing and I don’t want to go back there. I know EM has made mistakes but would be there without him. When I look at the season ticket prices at other Premier League clubs we are about average.

Outside of the Marinakis debate, I'd be interested to know which teams fan's think they have good owners - I can't think of too many candidates (Luton perhaps given their journey, Brighton?).

Can't imagine the City fans are that keen on theirs despite the success they bought - you wouldn't be would you?

Genuine question - in the top two tiers who has 'good owners'?

Edit: and the clue they're probably arseholes has always been in the term 'billionaire owner'. You've got to be an tight fisted egomaniac f*** to get that far surely.

I'll concede the brain one, are you really offended though?

Stop going isnt really an insult is it?

If I said I think youre being a bit sensitive would that be an insult too? 😂

I'll leave it there Ash, Good luck with your campaign 👍

Adios
Offended? I've heard worse on here over years. But it was intended to insult nonetheless.

Being told to stop going to matches just for posting an an opinion on a forum? Kind of speaks for itself really.

Sensitive? Nah, pointing out others behaviour isn't being sensitive, it's calling a spade a spade. I do think those resorting to insults and childish behaviour over a difference of opinion on an Internet forum are being very oversensitive though. Someone posting an opinion you disagree with online really shouldn't warrant such a reaction.

I'm happy to leave it there though. We clearly disagree on this topic (which is fine, you are entitled to your opinion) and there's no real benefit to continuing this conversation any further.

What evidence do you have that EM stepped back at that point any more than at other times? Honest question.

Well for me there seemed to be less interference from EM and others associated with him (such as Vrentzos and his son), and the transfer policy seemed to fit Murphy's MO. The managerial appointment was his choice too. Off the pitch drama was also minimal compared to before and after Murphy.

Without getting into an argument, you’re the one who originally brought up the words Dummy Spitting, Tantrum Throwing and Foot Stopping.

Previous poll results were (from 2022):

Evangelos IN: 72.%

Evangelos OUT: 1.6%

Modern football is rubbish: 26.4%

I have reset the poll, so in the spirit of democracy, let’s see what the results are now, two years down the line.
Not to be pedantic but only one person said EM out and over a quarter didn’t care.

Also, it's coming to something when you're just pleased not to have a murderous regime running your club. What has the modern game become?
Yep.

He doesn't seem to murder anyone (although allegedly has a dislike of bakeries) and he pumps cash in so we all just have to sit there and take any other incompetence and damage.

Again, I wonder how many of those backing him will still be doing so if the entirely avoidable FFP deduction relegates us in a few weeks....

(And for the record, adding Mark Clattenburg to the payroll and rolling him out to represent the club may just be worse than any potential murderous regime)

As someone who reads a lot of other clubs forums and comments sections my experience is that outside of the "Forest bubble" a lot of other people and the media see the club as a bit of a basket case, and with good reason. It's not like the criticisms being aimed at the club are unreasonable, many of which are issues that people haven't been happy with for a long time.

I tell you what though, I (and others on here) have had a lot of dummy spitting, tantrum throwing and foot stamping aimed our way tonight for voicing some opinions and criticisms that people don't like.
Actually I wasn't.

Right then, I find - yet again - having to put the Moderator Hat on, and ask that people consider what they post, before poking insults at other posters.

Make your point, defend it, if you can, and then move the discussion on.

We have had several posts in this very thread reported, because it looks like they are trying to provoke argument by chucking personal insults at other posters.

We don‘t like to see it, you know this, and it should not be the case that you behave this way.

Have some respect for others, even if their opinions differ from yours. It costs you nothing, and makes the forum a much more enjoyable place.

I have already had one message this morning from a forum member asking for their account to be deleted, because they find the forum degenerating into toxicity and bickering, and I, and the other members of the Moderating Team, absolutely do not want to see that.

We want to make the forum a welcoming place where debate can be had, and opposing opinions respected, even if you personally disagree with them.

So, yes, Forest are in the shit at the moment, and there are issues all over the place. This Forum is a place to discuss this, respectfully. If you cannot manage that, at this point in time, then I would perhaps suggest you take a little more consideration in what you post, OK?

Anyway, as you were.

Another point. I don’t expect anyone to notice but rather than ask for my account to be deleted I just didn’t bother logging on for a while and the reason for this action was precisely the reason that someone has asked you to delete their account this morning.

The irony is that that certain people don’t quite appreciate how they actually come across and roughly two thirds of my reason to back away was the moderating team.

Think on.

It matters not in the grander scheme of things whether I stay or go but thought I’d share anyway.

Is it?

Didn't Fawaz selling us get us better?

Now that we are a Prem club, couldn't Marinakis selling us potentially attract better owners?

Genuine questions, that may not be the case, but I'm not seeing any "madness", there seems to be valid reasoning behind it.
Marinakis has plenty of flaws, no doubt about it. But if he sold up we could just as easily end up with an asset-stripper whose only aim is to make money out of the club.

If you said to me now you could keep the Greeks or flip a coin, 50/50 chance of a good owner or a shite owner, then I'm keeping that coin in my pocket thank you.

Pedantry counts where data is concerned - wasn't that 20% up from 2% in that last couple of days since the news?
This was yesterday…

True.

Ours only has bakeries blown up.*

Much more civilised.

*Allegedly.
I'm not sure if you're being serious there or not, but allegations against our owner are hardly comparable to the human rights abuses of City's and Newcastle's.

(And you can still bet your last ten pence he's a horrible man, because billionaire.)

I think, „ruined by money“ is the answer there.
